Recording big scary valve amps? Why not go straight to one of the masters: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Dr7BjkogoMw

Got a new rack case today, so while I was transferring mine into it's new home I though I'd take some photos for all the amp perverts on BC... Six Svetlana Winged-C 6550s I put a 50p on the transformer just to put all that iron in scale... And the amp all racked up, in a case which makes it look pleasingly like a Nuclear bomb. Oh, and having heaved it on the scales it's now 37 Kilos on the nose, positively featherweight! I must say that thread where people are raving about their Bass Terrors is tempting me

Dropped by Sean's to pick up a rack case, easy as pie transaction and a lovely guy. Could've stood around talking hot valve amp action all day!

If money was no option I'd definitely be up for giving that a go

So... There's an EBS Proline 2x10 up for sale in the classified sections. Rated at 400 Watts RMS @ 4 Ohms so on paper it's capable of handling the SVT's output. Is this a good small-cab solution for pairing up, or am I just being barking? I quite like the idea of having a lighter cab than head...

I swapped out some gear to pick up a 1993 "Premier" model Pro from here about this time last year. Ashamed to say, I've never even plugged in with it! My band split up at exactly the same time and I've no cabinet at home - and no will to piss off the neighbours with the sound level... Now I've possibly got another band on the go, and I'm on the verge of buying a new flightcase to make it slightly easier to drag out of the house* - if there's a 4 Ohm speaker cab in the new practise space that can take it. Totally bonkers, unnecessarily overpowered for any use I can ever make of it, and I'd be much better served by something more modern & practical. But I can't get past the fact that it's the sound of countless classic 90s rock and metal albums and I'm a big kid really! *According to my bathroom scales, the head + current flightcase weigh in at an eye-watering 38.6 Kilos...

I used to keep my Gallien Krueger 700RB in a 2u SKB case, there was plenty of swing space around the amp for ventilation - and the GK vented out of the top. I imagine yours would be fine.

30-40%??? What the hell, are they starting making them out of Neodymium or something?
-
Actually the Black Album track can't have been a 2-Pro, because it wasn't launched until 1993. [/pedant]

Get us some sound samples then!

I got one to use as a home practice setup but I've realised that I hate playing through headphones and the patch settings are too much of a faff for just plugging and playing, so I've shifted mine to get an Ampeg BA108 instead. Good sounds and tons of potential uses, just not right for my uses right now.

Please leave any feedback here, much appreciated.

Just sold my B9.1ut to Cliff - great comms, no hassle, practically instant payment. Top man.
Clickable so not spamming up thread with massive pics: http://i17.photobuck...te/DSCF1467.jpg
Jesus christ Oli, is that the small room at the Croft? I'm surprised the whole crowd weren't killed outright.

Hi all, Like loads of people I bagged one of these just before christmas to use as a practice headphone amp setup at home, but I just can't get on with playing through headphones! So I'd like to move this on and get a small practice amp instead, neighbours be damned! Perfect nick, it's been lightly used at home and I've only modified one of the user patches but it's easy to put back to the factory settings anyway. Still with original box, manuals, and the bundled Cubase LE disc. £90 posted as it'll be a big heavy awkward beastie for delivery. 80 collected from Bristol, or I can deliver within a reasonable distance.

A lovely guy, pleasure to do business with and didn't complain about helping carry nearly 40 kilos of SVT to my car down the street! Definitely recommended.

[s]Unfortunately this issue is already off the stands just when I got around to trying to grab a copy! I'd be forever grateful if one of you lot has the issue in question and could do me a scan of this interview? Apologies if this should be in the Items Wanted forum.[/s] Sorted! Bless the Basschat community spirit.
