1. Id prefer to have a chaoss pad above the Pups than below, so when im playing with my fingers my thumb is free to use it.
2. I always make a point of changing my G string whenever i have my instrument in public.
3. well… thats us out of a job. Gone the way of forklift drivers and tesco's till staff.
4. Reggae or step? Reggae i would just LPF, maybe with a OC2 before it. Dubstep, well... you want at-least synth>octave>fuzz>lfp(with CV input from a hothand or exp.pedal).
5. As always, gigrig is the king of power supplies (how many more times do i have to suggest them before they give me some free stuff?), but for just those pedals id suggest the HB powerplant jr. Id avoid the larger HB supply, as its not isolated, but for the price of the jr, you cant beat it for a small board.
6. Done, hope it helps, and look forward to see what you come out with.
7. With that board I'd probably go for a synth and a low pass. Synth>octave>fuzz>bitcrusher>lpf for that synthy goodness. Edit: and a compressor at the start would help tracking.
8. Also, i would go for a generator, a isolator for the B:Assmaster, Bass Wah, Space Echo 9v, and BDI21, Electroman for microsynth and a daisychain cable to connect them all together.
9. I just brought from their site, and if i remember correctly it snuck under the import tax radar. For the adapters for individual pedals, its worth a look through the marketplace here, as they do pop up now and again.
10. +1 Gigrig
11. I think the only (potential) issue with digital effects these days is less bitdepth or samplerate, but latency.
12. You can test sample rate aliasing in audacity. Change the samplerate to something low, like 5k, then get a tone that rises from like 1-5k. Once you hit 2.5k interesting things should start happing. Then see Bitcrushers for further craziness.
13.
In general compression is not the best way to fix signal-chain gain issues, mainly because this will completely kill your dynamics, which is often not what people want.
Unless used correctly. I find the most common problem with compression not to be raising the existing noise floor rather than killing off your attack/dynamics. Is long as your using it as a compressor, not a limitor, set the relevant envelope settings, and are careful with your gain structure/power supply you should be fine. I use my compressor early in my signal chain, to even out my playing/ volume across strings so that my pedals react in more of a predictable way. Others use a compressor towards the end of their chain, taoming undesired volume spikes that could occur. I am also thinking of getting a (second) sidechained compressor for after my dirt pedals to sidechain the kickdrum to. http://www.ovnilab.com/ is THE place to go for compressor info/reviews. I'd definitely give the site a read.
14. If you get a blend pedal and use a pedal intended for guitar, and you can blend in your clean tone and regain some low end. I find that sticking a blended signal through a bass designed preamp then merges the and together so it sounds less like two separate instruments.
15.
just thinking about the links your folks have posted, surely a weblink searching fro 'deko' with in stock items only and Harley Benton as manufacturer would work on pc?
The reason that people post links to the mobile site is that the mobile site seams to have a better selection of the instruments than the www. site.

17. Is it true bypass? If it is then maybe the volume cut/drop when engaged is for when the true bypass pops when engaged?
18.
You do realise that this is a price increase of Infinity? (49p / 0) They're 'avin' a giraffe if you ask me ...
If you can /0, then 1=2.
19. Using a preamp pedal and a DI guarantees that you can keep your tone as similar as possible no matter what backline you have to play with.
20.
do you use a Gameboy???? :-)
Yeah, im currently in the midst of trying to get it to trigger notes when i play them on bass. Its not 100% there yet, so i will make a thread when im happy with it. Look up LSDJ if your curious about playing music on gameboys.
21. i have a fender micro DI, its tiny, runs off of a normal 9v supply, and has a cab sim. I have it sitting ontop of my input/output buffer (brought off of mcgraham), only cause i really do need to get a bigger/second board.
22. Yes, it is. They are both digital multi-effects.
23. Or you could get a G1on, and a B1on for about £100.
24.
I tend to find, the more professional the enter profession here, the less hassle they are and get the job done quicker. The weekend warrior types tend to be the ones who complain more and have the crappy attitudes.
Fixed. This thread reminds me of a joke, Q: Whats the difference between a monitor engineer and a toilet? A: A toilet only has one A**hole S***ing on it at a time.
