This is probably the cheapest one ive found.

how about putting the muff in a looper pedal with a clean blend (or a crossover) so that you get both your clean sound with all its low end, and your distorted sound blended together. I would suggest then going into a preamp so that it sounds more like one tone.

I had only seen this one, which seams to be a fancy daisy chain with a couple of voltage doublers.

Any other long time EHX Memory Man w/ Hazarai users here?
elephantgrey replied to Oscar South's topic in Effects
This was the runner up in my search for a delay years ago. I ended up going with the eventide timefactor, but mainly because i can sync that to midi. -
I'm surprised no one has mentioned the MXR power brick! Love mine
I didnt think the MXR one was issolated…
Aye, I was a bit '???' With that. Haha. The reason its not essential is because I have an ls2 on my board and a rewiring will remove the need for a blend on the pedal
Ah okay, i must have coppied the wrong tabs url. Here should be the right link.
???????????????
Sorry i probably didnt explain myself properly. OP was saying that theyd like a blend. I thought that a small/cheap blend loop pedal might be easier than trying to find a fuzz with blend control. I know they said it wasnt necessary, but thought it might be helpful anyhow.

Id say that the best power supply is the gigrig system. if your worried about cost though, id buy just their isolator, and power it using something like the 1spot or the diago supply.

Help with Fake Guitar Pedalboard (3 problems)
elephantgrey replied to usernamefield's topic in Effects
Yeah it should work fine, just turn the attack to 7'oclock instead of 1'oclock like you would for a punchy bass sound. -

Id check out Ovnilab as a good site for compressor reviews. it depends on your budget really. I use a markbass compressore, which is great. I dont know much about OD pedals, less so about guitar ones, but a few guitarists ive played with have blackstar valve OD pedals which sounded great. Maybe try the guitarchat subforum below the marketplace for suggestions. Theyll probably be able to help you get the sound you want better. -
Building a Pedalboard. EHX Steel Leather with a compressor?
elephantgrey replied to Painy's topic in Effects
No worries, and good luck with the board, watch out for the GAS! -
Building a Pedalboard. EHX Steel Leather with a compressor?
elephantgrey replied to Painy's topic in Effects
For that much the Boss LMB-3 is probably your best bet. Just keep the enhance knob all the way anticlockwise, and note that there isnt an attack knob. Shouldnt be too much of a problem since its set to a good setting for most people, you just cant adjust it. -
Building a Pedalboard. EHX Steel Leather with a compressor?
elephantgrey replied to Painy's topic in Effects
Okay, those are all things that a compressor will do better than an expander like the steel leather. Ovnilab is a great resource, Id definitely check out his FAQ and top picks. You want a compressor with atleast threshold, ratio, attack and make up gain/volume controls. And one or a line of LEDs to show you how much compression your applying makes setting it up allot less of a chore. -
Building a Pedalboard. EHX Steel Leather with a compressor?
elephantgrey replied to Painy's topic in Effects
simply put, compressors pull back the lout parts and bring up the quiet bits to even out the sound, expanders make the quiet bit quieter. Then there is limiters (extreme compressors) that cap the volume at a curtain point (your threshold) so it cant get any louder than that, and (noise)gates (extreme expanders) that completely cut off everything quieter than the threshold. i use a compressor at the start of my chain to even out my strings, and make my dirt pedals more consistent, and a gate after my dirt pedals to cut off any noise when im not playing a note. Compressors also can have envelope settings, so that they can let your attack through and make you sound punchier, and sustain your notes longer. What is it you liked about playing with the compressor the other month? -
Help with Fake Guitar Pedalboard (3 problems)
elephantgrey replied to usernamefield's topic in Effects
Okay its probably the POG. a compressor before/a sound gate after would help. Also, make sure on your bass you have the bridge Pup turned up, and your eq to treble. -

elephantgrey replied to usernamefield's topic in Effects
It sounds like tracking issues with the octave effects. How are you using the POG and PS6 (like POG as +12, PS6 as +7)? Try moving the PS6 before the mastotron, and if that dosent work adding a compressor(and/or EQ) to the start of your chain might help. EDIT: also, playing cleanly is important. i use a sonuus b2m to trigger the synth in my drum machine and it works fine as long as i send it a nice clean compressed signal. You can improve the last example you gave by starting to play a riff slowly, and speeding up seeing how fast you can get before it starts glitching. -
New mini bass version of the Cali76 compressor!
Origin Effects Friday - though orders will be built and delivered on a three week lead-time. Unless you want it in kit form as pictured!!! (Please note folks, this is not available as kit form).
-
dirt doesnt damage speakers, volume does. If you are worried about it, use the output volume control or a separate volume/compressor pedal to bring the volume down to a reasonable level.
-
i think that the point it, you could get on fine following one of the pre-tried orders (like receiver>buffer>compressor>EQ>tuner>octave>synth>OD>Bitcrusher>Fuzz>distortion>Filter>Preamp>Chorus>Phaser>Flanger>Ring mod>Compressor>verb>dellay>phrase looper>buffer>out) but then youll never really know why your pedals sound like they do. if someone comes and messes up your settings, youll have to use marked positions instead of just knowing what the settings should be. The more you play around with the order/settings/etc of your pedals, the more you understand them. If you end up with the first order your tried/where suggested then thats fine, but by then youll know why that sounds good.
If you wanted control of your Audio Interface you could look at this http://www.behringer...ts/FCB1010.aspx
you would still need something to route the signal/be controlled by the footcontroller. itll probably be simpler to just go with an analogue system.
-
…are you using a decent audio interface with low latency and multiple ins/outs.…
i think he is using the laptop just for playing samples, so just needs to worry about output latency. And if these are noise/non-rhythmical ambient noises that might not necessarily need to bother with latency at all.

I think you have 2 options. First is to use a mixing desc (something like this) that has 4 inputs and 2 aux sends. you want your bass (via fx) into channel 1, mac in 2, kaoss into 3 and looper into 4. Then aux 1 into the kaoss and aux 2 into looper. Use aux knob to send more/less to kaoss or looper. Second is to contact someone like bright onion pedals to make you up a custom looper (a bypass looper, not a phrase looper like you have). They should be able to build you a box that will let you send the signal where you want it controlled by foot switches. You could try using a bunch of ls2s(or alternatives), but i think itll probably be both cheaper and easier to get BOP to make you something.

New mini bass version of the Cali76 compressor!
elephantgrey replied to dannybuoy's topic in Effects
Looks nice, only thing that worries me would be the single LED. So either it has no metering or down to a single LED metering and nothing telling you if its bypassed. Parallel compression is a big plus though. -
http://duallockpedalboard.com I'm buying a kit for my Metro 16
i can do everything in their video with heavy duty velcro, including lifting my board by one pedal with all my other pedals on it (if my wrist can manage it). I dont think ive ever seen proof that anything is better, and ive seen nothing thats cheaper so id say its still the best option.
