yes, you should be able to just replace the switch. Be careful to remember which wire goes where when repolaceing them.

If you had a delay pedal wich only alowed they delays to continue to fade out after youve bypassed (so no new signal delayed, just whatever has been), you could just change the switch from latching to momentary.

Okay, i think i get what you mean now. What you could do is use a loop pedal with a momantary switch to bypass the delay until you press the switch (wired like a true bypass switch). You could also wire it to split the signal sending half to the delay, add the momentary switch before the delay and then blend the delay with the split signal. This second way will alow for the delay to continue repeating after you let go of the momentary switch. I guess you could mod any delay with a true bypass to do either of these pretty easily (or have the choice between the two with a switch). Edit: Looks like Musky beat me to basicaly the same post whilst i was typeing slowly.

Im not that sure what you mean, but with my timefactor when i press the middle footswitch on most delay types it repeates whatevers being delayed that instance forever at unity volume, whilst its being affected by like the filter on filter-delay mode.

Interesting project, Ive been thinking of doing something pedal related with my RPI for a while, but have been mainly held off by my lack of programming skills. So how your working so far is that if you keep on playing after you record a loop your overwrite the loop? Would there be a way to overdub the phrase instead, as this might be more useful. Also, might be interesting to add a USB midi interface if possible to add either tempo-sync with another pedal, or to add a midi controller to control the looper.

okay, so the closest ive came to finding a pedal like what i want is that the jamman solo xt has something called 'jam sync', and im wondering if there is a way to convert the clock mesage from a midi signal to this? If you want your amp to distort on some songs, but then want it to not distort for other songs, how about a simple boost pedal? You can keep it off on the songs that you want quieter, and then turn it on to up the signal into your amp, overdriving it? PS. I am looking for options for a small one-phase looper pedal to work with my Boss RC-50 (which sits near the end of my signal chain) to go towards the start of my board, so i can record a phrase on it, play about with it via alot of knob twiddleing, and then record it again on my RC50. So far i have all of my time-bassed-effects/RC50/Electribe time-synced up to eachother via midi, so that would be ideal. Basicaly what im looking for is a small loop pedal with midi IN (and preferably through/out, but i can live without that). So far all of my resurch has come up with just larger pedals or multi FX that fit the bill, but i am realy just looking for a smaller simple pedal, does anyone know if such a thing exists?

okay, after playing with my mates electribe ES MKII i am now thinking that i will save up and buy a drum machine. I am now going to drop the clap thing from this thread.

Im not really sure if this is the right place to put this thread, but its about effects (just not on bass) so ill put it here. Im getting into using my loop pedal and some other effects to play about creating a solo performance, but i would like to create the drum sounds myself as i dont like the sounds off of my RC-50. I am thinking of using a cabasa for the hihat type sound, i am searching for a bassy sounding box to hit on for the BD sound, and i have decided to go with a clap as the snare sound. My problem is that i have found it hard to create a good sounding clap sound by, urm..., clapping. My thoughts are that i can maybe remedy this with effects, but am unsure how to go about this. Has anyone out there had expirience in turning an actual hand clap into a snare-sample-ey clap sound? Thanks in advance for any/all advice. EDIT: Brought a Electribe ESX, so thread is unnessesery.

im thinking of getting an LS2 and mod'ing it with an inverting op-amp set to unity gain, on a DPDT to act as a phase inverter.

Seams like all the problems you had with it could be solved with the LS2. I'm getting some GAS for this pedal to run a few tone-sculpting patches on that toggle mode you where on about (OD>EQ>synth>Fuzz im thinking, with different settings). Love the fact it has more patches at once than the b3, but less than 1/3 the footprint...

changing the phase is how out of sync the wave is to the original (a phaser does this just to varying amounts set to an oscillator) what the poroblem here is that the phase has been inverted by 180 degrees, that that needs to be inverted. here is an example of different degrees of phase: What changing the wires over on the lead does is create a [url="http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ground_loop_(electricity)"]ground loop[/url], this can lead to noise issues. If you've ever had a active DI, this is what the ground lift tries to avoid.

So in theory you could use any wave form to modulate the phase of the original signal, could even play about with the PWM of the wave… But before i get carried away and derail this thread even further i shall go and look for synth pedals with adjustable waveforms. That and look up phase modulation some more.
