I haven't decided yet, I might have to get a Pickguard made up when I decide which pickups to install
-
Very tempting jezzaboy, would cover up this unsightly mess. My recently acquired SB1200s which has been badly upgraded, ripped the pickups out but luckily all the rest is original.

Haha, I guessed as much Andy but I live in hope...😂

Anyone got one of these knocking about they could sell me

This is a Burns "limited edition" John Rostill Shadows Bass, 1964 reissue from the late 2000's. It has a white polyester finish, alder body, maple neck with rosewood fingerboard. Full 33.5 inch scale. It plays well and sounds great and gets good positive comments when used. A Fantastic instrument for a retro or modern band. It is currently strung with rounds but a set of flats will go with it. It is a very usable instrument with plenty of tonal options The Shadows bass (and Burns guitars) are collectable and are not currently being made so this is a rare chance to get one of these at this price. Condition report: This bass is well used and has numerous small marks from normal use and a lacquer crack near the neck joint (pictured) although well used the condition is still very good. There is one tuner key missing. The mechanism can still be tuned by using one of the other "push on" tuning keys Note: As Burns are not trading at the moment I have been unable to get a replacement key but I see that they plan to begin trading again soon.. It comes with original Burns imitation alligator/wooden construction hard shell case, which is a bit tatty, but still in one piece. No trades sorry Pics to follow tomorrow when I have proper daylight

I bought this off Sean @Sambrook a few months back as I could not resist it but I am having a good clear-out before my retirement, hope Sean does not mind me using his description.. I have really enjoyed having this around and a very comfortable player, weight is 3.9 kgs This is a hidden gem of a bass: 2 hum cancelling single coils, piezo bridge, 3 band eq, with 4 (yes, 4!) volumes. It's called the B2, after Brian Bromberg, (B squared). It wasn't actually authorized by him, I believe, but it's a real players instrument. The upper fret access is the best I've ever played (you can comfortably reach the top G with your 2nd finger), combining this with the piezo is a soloist's dream. The controls are: bottom row-stacked pickup volumes, mids, then stacked bass/treble. Top row- master volume, piezo volume, pickup selector. Ergonomically, the bass just works. It's actually a real quality instrument, punches very far above it's weight. Photo 2 there is a little dink in the finish , you can just about make it out £400 Delivered to UK addresses
