  1. most useful purchase was the MI-PRO 58 wireless IEM system Most not used, Ashdown preamp pedal, it's a great bit of kit but not used in anger (yet) Most interesting must be my early 1964 Hofner 500/1 beatle bass and not bass related, my Brain May 'Super' red special
  2. 30 to 40 per year for me these days. Used to be about a hundred for many years but over the last 15 years down to about 50 a year, but I'm finding more time off is better
  3. I'm sending my show reel in, thanks for the heads up😀
  4. yes I did pay duty and vat. It was still a good solution at the time. I read somewhere that they were still active, so maybe their website does need updating
  5. Hi Ian my wife put these on her Precision, 11 years ago https://fretfx.com/ they worked very well but we had to get a replacement as one LED went out. It was replaced under warranty but the glue pulled the nitro laquer from the neck. It didnt matter because the new one covered it over hope you're ok matey
  6. also Meet Loaf on his 'farewell tour' as few years ago His voice was shocking but the backing singer carried him through and the band were on fire. This was at the o2 and the second set was Bat out of hell in its entirity
  7. no same bassist, he's excellent I went the year before and it was tune after tune, slick as hell. But this year just was a bit disappointing. I'm a huge It Bites fan too. Too much waffling between songs, as funny as Frank can be though, I just wanted songs
  8. it's so nice to hear that I'm not the only one We are a team, best freinds etc. She also plays bass and we've done two bands together. Our house is full of gear too. The support she gave me when I slipped a disc was heroic She was also right by my side when I was learning the Bucks Fizz stuff for my audition. Helping me with dance moves etc Lockdown was fabulous
  9. i saw the searchers last year and they were fabulous, weird isn't it Dr and the Medics, in the 80s. awful Francis Dunnery recently in Islington. Band wern't very slick as the line up had changed, Chad Wakkerman on drums was good though
  10. For sale is my P bass Lyte. In pretty good nick actually. One nasty bruise down by the jack socket. Slim neck, strung with a set of Roto swing bass. I bought this 22 years ago, gigged it a bit then lent it to my brother in Italy. I got it back about 5 years ago but it just hangs on my wall so it's time to move it on. No trades on this one and would rather meet than courier. Pictures for you and any more please ask
  11. fabulous basses these. Great neck on them but sadly too heavy for me these days
  12. try allparts or Armstrong music
  13. I picked up a nearly new RM 4x10 the 8 ohm one, off ebay, nearly 2 years ago. 100 quid. It was nearly Christmas which isn't a good time to sell. It's a great cab
  14. I'm far too old but they sound great
  15. difficult to know with this stuff, it was cheap, so I took a punt and it's ok. It has done quite a few gigs but is now retired and hanging on the wall
  16. I bought one from ey guitar parts. Fretless maple. It was/is fine. Used it in my Police tribute The dots are in the wrong place, they are in between the frets like a fretted bass, so I got my tech to add some more in the right place (in black, the original ones were white) worth a punt I woud say
  17. what was the amp mate?
  18. way back in the late 80s I was playing a JayDee Mark King bass. Didn't really have a clue what I had and would love to try it now. But my first P Bass was the milestone bass for me. I realised in about 1988 that was the sound I needed. Several P basses later and they are still the sound I love the best, even though I mostly play a JMJ Mustang. I did have an epic Steinberger XL2 for a bit. Again, a bit of a game changer back in the day and a very impressive bit of kit
  19. She has a truly exceptional voice, great songs too
  20. My trusty '73 P bass, the pickup went open circuit and I had very little volume. I cranked everything right up and got some kind of sound that finished the gig This was 20 years ago, I always carry a spare bass now
  21. I have Labella on my contempory. They sound superb but I cant remember their gauge 50 to 100 gauge in fact. They are quite stiff but I did a gig tuned to E flat and they worked really well
  22. great basses these. I've had two, shouldn't have sold either of them
  23. A lot of people have said that
