  1. there's only one solution here (IMO) Walk
  2. It's just a body that john sprayed the wrong colour and let me have it cheap to make the red Sting fretless The paint wasnt even flattened and polished It has a fender 63 pickup in it and sounds amazing Just shy of 10 pounds in weight
  3. Its not very exciting I was trying to spray the whole thing metal flake gold from rattle cans but i didnt think it was good enough So the body is still a fiesta red colour It originally had a fretless maple board, again from china
  4. I haven't even adjusted the truss rod yet The nut slot on the E string needs a little file but other than that, it does play really well. I will roll the fingerboard edge at some point. The fretting is good, no sharp ends and well seated
  5. Actually I've had 2 necks from ebay The 2nd one is on my Adam Clayton '74 Pbass look-a-like it came from here https://www.ebay.co.uk/str/highendguitarneckstore?_trksid=p4429486.m3561.l170197 It was a 21 fret jazz bass with dots and a nice amber tint on the neck
  6. my '73 is 8.8 pounds
  7. I wondered about that. Extended fingerboard then
  8. what gauge as well please These PB50s are great basses
  9. I have 3 now 1 from ebay 2 from Aliexpress the ebay one is attached to a Bravewood body and sounds amazing. It may need a fret level, I'm off on a course to do fret levelling the Aliexpress one, tinted laquer and 70s logo, plays superb. Attached to a random P bass body and it all works as it should you should be fine mate
  10. yep agreed and roll the board edges too a job for next week i think
  11. it was already on it along with a US serial number good job the truss rod is adjusted from the headstock need to stain the plain bits of wood a little but I was eager to see how it went together
  12. it's a flat ish fingerboard, 38mm wide at the nut not too shallow and quite nice actually Feels like my Northwest guitars jazz neck I will roll the fingerboard edges I've just had another little noodle on it, it's actually very good acoustically loud and good sustain I know relics are loved and hated but I'm not taking out vintage guitars anymore, so this fullfills the job
  13. I listen to Rush a lot, when I was at school but never listened to the bass particularly maybe it's time to do Rush
  14. So Ive put this together for the U2 tribute Body was ex Chris Cross Neck from Aliexpress Pickup Tonerider Cts pots, orange drop cap I've literally screwed it together and tuned it up Sounds like a P bass Ive even wired it up myself and it works
  15. Sacrilege I know but I haven't really listened to Geddy's playing
  16. Simon built my brother a strat based on Matt Schofield's guitar, small world really
  17. I've just received a pair of QSC K10s from Ash. Packed like a genius and they're virtually immaculate. Great comms too thanks mate
  18. wow that's cool Zak is a great drummer
  19. I saw that band in Folkestone. Hardly anybody was there but Boz Burrell was on bass and Don Airey on keys Awesome
  20. yep I had that too Insane
  21. I played in a Jam tribute for a bit (mates, they needed a dep) and as i learned all the songs, I realised how much of an influence he was. He plays some really melodic stuff and his fills are great and his energy too Have a great retirement Bruce
