  1. I ordered one of these from Bax Global for £236.00. It's arrived and it's very nicely made and it has got me thinking. It doesn't come with a power supply, which although isn't really a problem (I have a voodoo labs pedal power two on another pedal board) I would like to mount this preamp on a smaller pedal board with maybe just a tuner. Also, no FX loop, again I don't use FX so it shouldn't be a problem either but say I wanted a little chorus on my board, I can still stick it throught the front So I'm asking you lovely people what other power supplies could I use for this, my boss tuner and chorus pedal. I can't post a pictute atm, it's at home and I'm at work
  2. I must admit that I beat 7 bells out of my strings when I play but my fingers have toughened up now, since I started playing more
  3. Ray, I am so sorry to read this Basschat is an amazing community and a great place to buy and sell gear, with no fees and to deal with great people I wish you the best on your journey
  4. dodged a bullet there I think I'm sure Neil Murray explained on this very site, that he sort of busked it. He hadn't written all the fills, he just played it
  5. for my 80s duo I just nicked the name of a TV cop show (from the 80s) that had two people in it Miami Vice and when we turned it into a band added the word Reloaded Miami Vice Reloaded think along those lines bu Neon Yuppie Coke Machine does it for me
  6. I checked my JMJ yesterday, for neck dive and there was zero I used my Hofner violin bass at the weekend and that does sit a bit weird on its strap. Tilts forward but it's so light it really doesn't matter I cant wait to use it again
  7. don't you mean ghosts in the machine logo (that would be clever)
  8. amazing but too rich for me atm thanks for the info
  9. I've just found this thread, as I was looking into whether Ashdown did a pedal like this (as my Police Tribute has gone completely IEM) Bax shop had one left in stock at £239 so I bought it. It's a while till our next gig but I'll take it along (with my bass gear, Just in case) and will try it live
  10. I think I've worked it out I played the hofner yesterday at a gig, with zero problems. I think the last time I used it, I just wasn't playing much bass and my fingers probably weren't up to it
  11. Did a dep gig yesterday with my Police tribute guys (their normal pub band) I decided to use my Ltd Edition Hofner 500/1 union Jack bass. The whole band have just gone IEM and my bass sounded unbelievable in my ears. Great gig, we wheeled out lots of Beatles songs, some Small Faces, The Who, The Jam, The Police, Oasis IEM have totally changed gigging for me
  12. I sold it to @BMBR 6 months later. I wished I hadn't now but we all know how it is Hope you're well @NancyJohnson
  13. red nose day, it would have been dead. Stupidly I didnt check their FB page (which I usually do), they were very surprised. It was a duo gig, keys was half way there, so I phoned him and he turned round and went home Still, will give us a laugh tonight
  14. my gig last night is actually tonight. Turned up a day early, this is the first time I've ever done this in 38 years of gigging. Luckily the gig was very local to me, 5 minutes in the car DOH!!
  15. I'm just under 6 foot and I think it looks cool
  16. I dont notice any neck dive on either my Hofner or JMJ mustang. I still play the long scale basses (namely in my Police tribute) but prefer the shorties now. Taking the Hofner out on Sunday
  17. sad news, Nick was a great bloke My condolances to his family RIP
  18. weird isnt it. Thinking about it, my p bass is detuned half a step, maybe I should return to pitch and see how it feels.
  19. Labellas on the hofner and fender flats on the mustang
  20. I really don't know, I have so little experience with flats. I've always gigged with rounds and never had a problem
