we had a chat with him after the gig, they all came out from backstage an we went to Graham, a) because no one else did and b) we wanted to tell him what a bloody great job he did. He had A Thunderbird and got a great sound

Paid gigs for amateur musicians......?

Many years ago the 30 quid i earned at a pub gig, really supplemented my income. 150 gigs a year and a full time job was great. Ive gigged hard for nearly 40 years. Ive also bought a lot of gear with that money, which I couldn't have afforded without the gigs. Then, 21 years ago I started playing solo gigs My wife had left me and I needed something to keep me occupied I made a fortune for a couple of years. I thought I had to charge the same as other solo performers or I would be taking work from them. My Police tribute hardly ever made any money a nd usually we were out of pocket after hotels etc but it was fun As I get older I really dont need the money and so dont really charge as much as I could for my duo I still do charity gigs for free. I've never really thought of playing for free, the way you do Chris, it's an interesting conundrum -
cool, all ordered cheers mart

what do I search for? I'm not finding this one
-
yes so people say It's going in my Adam Clayton beaten up sunburst P

this is actually how I gig mostly As the singer in 2 bands, I like the whole mix so I can make sure my voice sits in the right place, so I come out the headphone socket Both bands have everything in the pa, so I get a great sound I did a bass only gig last week (U2 Tribute) and we only had time for a line check, I got a kind of mix in my IEMs but not what I wanted. The out front sound was ace, just not enough time to sort the IEM mix properly (and there's no way I was going to take them out)

I have both the fender 'original 62' bass pickup and a custom shop version They are very nice and sound very similar. They would be my go to but I have a Tonerider classic that I'm putting in a build It will interesting to hear the difference
-
all fair points. The tuner and the kill switch is important to me as one of my bands changes tuning and I change basses too. If I played more guitar I would mount it on my pedal board but I'm not atm as you say, maybe rack the head and velcro it on top but that would mean setting up at each gig
-
that's a good point ref the velcro actually I wonder if racking it would be better. (this is so I don't have to mess about plugging it in and setting it up, everytime I do a gig) anyone racked the RM500 I wonder

thank you
