  2. i have fender flats coming fot it
  3. the Harley Benton PB50 has a lovely chunky neck which will defo improve when rolled
  4. I'll try one of these then. It's an unlacquered maple board (Harley Benton) so should be fine
  5. Hi there has anyone done this and how did you do it please There are a few vids on Youtube buta bit of first hand knowledge would be good cheers
  6. I'm also thinking about rolling the fingerboard edges, if anyone has done it, how did you do it please
  7. I've only used Fender flats and they've been wonderful
  8. I work with a guy who has several HB guitars. I hink, if you get a good one, you become a fan. I'm going to shim the neck on mine I think. Maybe replace the nut as it looks a bit rough (seems to be cut ok though) atm it's my office bass and I wasnt there yesterday, so didnt have time to play with it
  9. You're Bournmouth way, will let you know, dates slowly being added
  10. nope, see the picture at the top of the page. well chuffed
  11. so it's turned up and it's very good. Yes needs a set up but crikey I'm impressed. Might need to shim the neck but I'll fiddle with the saddles etc later
  12. I must admit I pretty much sound like me. I changed from Ampeg to Ashdown a few years ago and my sound is still about the same. My biggest change is going to flats though. But they still sound like worn out rounds, if you know what I mean and I stopped changing string regularly because I like that worn out rounds sound these days
  13. JMJ Mustang, all the way
  14. can't unsee that now
  15. maybe next year for me. I was gigging yesterday so couldn't attend. It would be good to meet you guys
  16. used to wear contacts for gigging all the time. I sweat a lot and it gets in my eyes, so by the end of the gig I was ready to take them out. I used to carry my lens case and pop them in the fluid and clean them when I got home, then I went to disposables and used to take them out at the end of the gig and chuck em away. Just over 20 years ago I had lasik surgery and didn't need anything at all. Wonderful it was. Now I need reading glasses but that's no biggy either
  17. yes plenty of times, I was being sarcastic really. It's very rare that I like the support band. Some of the best gigs I've been too are the ones without support. Main act on about 7.30 and on my way home before 10.00
  18. Last night at the Cambridge Corn Exchange a band called Barbara supporting I hate support bands, I'm not there to see them BUT THEY WERE SUPERB Fantastic song writing, I loved every song, I wished they could have played for longer. Look out for them https://www.facebook.com/barbaratheband
  19. nice boots, where did you get them
  20. of course
  21. Got our debut gig with The Americana Revue https://www.americanarevue.com/ coming up in 2 weeks, so I went shopping with my wife for some new clobber. The gig is completely sold out, which we are very proud of. Anyway, here's the gear Anyone else buy gear exclusively to wear at gigs
  22. more than happy with my rig Ashdown RM500 EVO2 into either a Mark Bass club 15 or Ashdown RM410 cab. Usually the club 15 though Basses mainly used are a JMJ with flats and a bitsa P bass with flats, although my old 73 is still wearing rounds
  23. even if its a small hole, my original Sting bass had a hole, I just put the finger rest over it. it's no biggy either way arrives next week, first Policed gig is Dec 2nd
  24. ok, trigger pulled!!
  25. I've just seen a video of one being taken apart and there's no routing under the pickguard. This pleases me as I need to have the PG removed to keep with the Sting vibe hundred quid, it's mad
