I have just scored an RM410 Evo II cab on ebay Will be collecting tomorrow, it's in fantastic condition and was a bargain. I have a new band project which may need a slightly bigger cab than my pub set up

A few years ago I played at the Matala beach festival in Crete, with my Police tribute. We didn't get paid but We were flown out there, met by our driver at the airport and driven to out hotel, then the festival. We were there for 3 days, played on the saturday night, flown home on the Monday. Matala has beach caves, which joni mitchell sand about Here's a few pictures It was an amazing experience. If I never did another gig, at least I did this one. It was huge. You can see the caves behind us

how do the dunlops sound?
-
Yep I know Phil used them. I just want nice natural thump really. I love the JMJ sound but will need a spare bass on my new band project and as I have several P basses, one of those with flats should do it. I dont think I'm looking for a scooped sound, it's weird isn't it. P bass + rounds has worked for me my whole gigging life, when I wanted the bass upfront in the mix etc. Easy to temper the rounds with a bit (ok a lot) of right hand muting at the bridge. But I am loving the feel of the JMJ with flats. My new band is an Americana project with some really amazing players, so I feel flats and a nice laid back feel should work well

I might try these then
-
are they any good Lozz

what gauge TI flats please
-
nicely done. I'll check out prices

I dont want any more tension on the JMJ, I just want to P bass to feel nice. I have some cheap Olympia flats on it 45-105 and they're way to stiff. I used it at a gig and had to put it down after 2 numbers and went to the JMJ. How do they feel on the Classic 50s P bass

I love the fender long scale flats that come as standard on the JMJ Mustang I would like to have similar on a P bass I have. How would the same strings feel on a P bass. My yard stick here is, Rotosound RS66 swing bass, on all my P basses. Tension is fine 45-105 on the rounds I'd like a similar tension to the Rotos please, without buying hundreds of sets I ask because I have joined a new band doing Americana stuff. I'll use the JMJ but would like a P bass backup with flats (I have plenty of P basses with rounds) TIA you fantastic lot

La Bella Deep Talkin' flats on StingRay?
police squad replied to StingRayBoy42's topic in Accessories and Misc
I have DTB on my Hofner. They make a great thud but they do make my fingers sore. The Fender flats on my Mustang JMJ don't hurt my fingers at all. The La Bellas seem higher tension to me -

I have one of these limited edition CT basses from 2012. Only 60 of these were made. I put LaBellas on it and it goes thud. Lovely -

got mine on amazon for about 45 quid iirc -
as far as I know, the Sue Ryder basses were from JHS (John Hornby Skewes). I know the MD there and he told me about them. It upset a few people that they did it. Good luck to 'em, that's what I think

I had a fretless maple board P bass neck from eyparts a few years ago. Dots in the wrong place (but I knew that) and I still have it. Not a bad neck at all and it was cheap too

love a bit of shell pink me

me too. It changes everything and I find it a lovely feeling. I don't need to do it now. I do it because I want to and it's good. No more 2nd rate anything for me now. No d!ckheads or wannabees. and I also love a weekend off too. Be energized by your new thing, it's great feeling too

Things that manufacturers have done....
police squad replied to bass_dinger's topic in General Discussion
there was a FB thread on the Vintage guitars and basses site, about what new models would we like to see. I asked for a Sting type P bass, reliced etc. I got a T shirt and gig bag for my idea but sadly, they havent made one yet. I would have bought one for my Police tribute, so that I didnt have to take my Bravewood out all the time -

so on friday and saturday I tried the comply tips. Better than the silicon but I didn't think to squeeze them first (I used to use earplaugs on my motorbike and always squeezed them)so they weren't perfect. I will try again BUT I have a sodding ear infection now. It's really quite unconfortable. can't sleepon that side as it's so painful. Will phone the Dr this morning i had a couple of isues Friday nght with the lead falling out of the P2. (I trod on it a couple of times) Sorted on Saturday by looping the lead round my belt first. I do stand by 'it's a game changer though' ATM I just hook straight to the headphone out on the desk. It gives me the FOH mix (backing tracks/keys/guitar/vocals) which works on all levels for me. I can hear perfectly where ny voice sits in the mix. My keys partner wants the same mix, so I bought a stereo splitter. Stereo to two x stereo output splitter. Amazon rubbish. It was stereo to left and right mono but labelled as stereo t 2 x stereo splitter. Any ideas folks where to get what I need -
HW builds lovely replicas. If I wanted an R bass, I would buy HW
