  1. I think it went to a long time lurker. Nice bloke too
  2. I think the advert is funny, I love the bass. Terrible demo by whoever that was. Love the binding and split inlays Would I buy one? Probably, but when I last had a Tbird, (a lovely white one from Nancy Johnson) it was too unwieldy for the pub gigs I was doing, so in the end I let it go I dont understand why Gibson don't offer white anymore, it's the best colour IMO
  3. I'm going to watch it as a lot of it was filmed where I used to live (until very recently)
  4. This a picture of my first really good pub band called Roadhouse. It was taken on the roof of a club in Ramsgate (now it's the biggest Weatherspoons in the country) This is 1988/89. Me on the right with the White jacket!!
  5. it was ridiculous. Stupid, selfish people. Big Country were great though
  6. was a warm one yes. Some reggae band ( actually is was Steel Pulse, I've just checked) was bottled off before BC played. Thin Lizzy on the sunday was awesome. I was nearly 15, my first festival!!
  7. I was at that festival. IIRC Stuart stopped the set to try and stop people throwing bottles of p!ss
  8. Marc Bolan too. It would have been interesting wouldn't it. Collaborations with other artists, Hendrix would jam with Eddie Van Halen. Bolan and Bowie would have definately been a good one (they did jam together on the TV show Marc) So much missed potential and I really like Karen Carpenter's voice
  9. My Marshall Jubilee did this, patch lead sorted it
  10. yes he was, this was in about 1987
  11. bought my P bass in Boogie music in 1990. I still have that bass. Peter Cook himself sold me an Aria SBR-150 and someone on BC then bought my Manson Explorer that I traded in there
  12. another call for the Ashdowm RM500. I have the EVO II which weighs 2.5kg. It's awesome
  13. Welcome Sethe, what part of Italy are you from?
  14. I had the 300 watt for a few years. Great amp. used to drop the mid out, sounded great. A couple of local players were using these. My old music shop boss used his right up until he passed away 6 years ago.
  15. The older Ibanez guitars and basses were mighty fine. I have a MC940 and it feel amazing. Someone said it felt like a Wal bass. I dont use it anymore but it sure is nice. Perhaps I should track down another JayDee😀
  16. nice. I'd love to try a jaydee again, I cant remember mine very well, twas over 30 years ago
  17. this place has forced me to buy several basses that I would never have known about. I stopped reading guitar/bass mags 10 years ago. They were just all the same I bought a new Flea jazz when they first came out. Loved it, gigged it hard, now sold Bought a JMJ Mustang last year. Have done 2 gigs with it. Absolute keeper this. Superb neck that feels like my '73 P bass But now I dont need anything and have lost interest somewhat. never say never though...................................😁
  18. i did used to feel that way about sunburst, long ago. I dont really care now but I dont have any sunburst basses. I do have a cherry sunburst Les Paul though, which is really nice Dots, no problem but lined fretless? Not for me 😀
  19. I can't eat very much before a gig because I sing. It really affects my breathing, so a small bite to eat about 6pm. I'll finish my dinner when I get home, usually it's a chilli. When I was doing gigs away from home (with the Police tribute) it was quite awkward. I often didnt eat at all before the gig but there was always good snacks afterwards back at the hotel. Cold meats like salami, olives, pork pie, crisps and red wine
