  1. wow that's cheap I have a set for sale on here, I shall reduce the price acordingly
  2. yep get one. Until recently I had 3. Now I only have my bitsa P bass, maple board, no lines. Looks and sounds awesome. I'll keep it just in case I need a fretless in the future. I did do some rock gigs with it and it sounded great
  3. ebay fees make it a waste of time these days. I have had much more success on here
  4. reduced to £30 inc postage to the UK Bought these but ended up with 2 sets. Never been out of the packet Includes postage uk only
  5. can be a difficult one this. I'm in an 80s duo and we generally agree songs we both like, As a singer, it's harder to sing a song I don't like, as it's difficult to get behind it, but I do try. Sometims I even end up liking it. We made this duo a band but the drummer and bass player had zero input at this point. (we knew what songs worked witht the audience) They are very professional and I am honoured to play with them actually. But any new material is now a band decision. It's been a long time since I've done a band from scratch, so picking a set list hasn't been done for a long time. People need to be flexible and if they're not, I would walk away these days, I'm 54 and don't need premadonnas now
  6. yeah paid 120 quid for mine in 1984. Sold for £75 6 months later when I bought my Manson. Mad!!
  7. I use this site for both of my duos. It is really good and probably great fun for practicing too
  8. atm, JMJ Mustang is perfect for what I need. 100% happy
  9. why take a big heavy rig if you dont have to I've been markbass club 1x15 for 10 years now, bigger gigs get the 2x10 club too. Nearly always through the PA too Ampeg PF500 and now Ashdown RM500 evo 2. No pedals I recently added an ashdown RM410 evo cab, this is for the new Americana thing I'm doing. Bigger stages, one cab solution, it's 21 Kg and the previous owner put quality casters on it (and it was only 100 quid) When I was in my teens and early 20s I would think nothing of loading in 2 4x12 cabs (I did one gig with 5 once, all for show)
  10. I sold my one, my fretless Ibanez MC940 and my Bravewood Sting replica because I'm done with the tribute thing. They were all amazing basses and I really loved them but it was time to be done with them With them gone I have no desire to do the Sting thing (which is good) but I should have kept them in all honesty, I have many other guitars that don't get used but I have kept them Just keep them mate
  11. I recently moved my one of these on. Lovely build quality too. A real belter GLWTS
  12. Just received a Tech21 sansamp thing from Tim. Fantastic service, delivered quickly and beautifully described Full marks for this Sterling Basschatter thanks mate
  13. Crikey, that Tech21 thing. Sweet Jesus, it's amazing I've just plugged it into my office amp (Hartke HA1400 2 x10 combo) AMPEG!!! WOW
  14. I am, see you there should be a blast
  15. My Police tribute played a beach festival in Crete, about 10 years ago We were chilling out at the hotel of a mate who had come with us, got chatting with a slightly OTT Dutch gentleman All of a sudden there was a load of tourists, they entered the pool area (where we were) and all wanted pictures with me. He must have said I was Sting. Quite good fun, if a little odd
  16. I think you've probably nailed it there. 😂
  17. thanks everybody picked up a 2nd hand tech21 sansamp. Simple. straight into the PA. should work a treat I will get a Bery BDi to try though. cheap as chips and worth 25 quid I think
  18. Ok you fantastic bunch I already do my 80s duo. I use a Vox Tonelab or my guitar and it works very well I'm shortly to be starting a 70s/80s/90s glam duo. Similar thing, backing tracks with guitars and bass removed. What can my bass player use (actually it's Mrs Police Squad, she's a mighty fine player, plays with a pick, no pedals) We'll just go into the Allen and Heath desk, then into QSC K12s. She loves the Ampeg thing (Still uses a PF500 when gigging normally) TIA
  19. I don't understand why singers don't have their own PA system We have our own amps/guitars/basses (& mics) so why don't they I have an awesome PA (I am also a singer) QSC K12s plus Ksubs and Allen and Heath Desk. you don't need to spend what I did to get decent sounding kit I would never join a band if the singer didnt have a PA.
  20. I played in Crete a few years ago. We were still in the EU at the time I took the neck off my P bass and put both bits in my suitcase. Reassembled when I arrived at my hotel, no problem Did the same going home You shouldn't have any customs problems but make sure you have proof of ownership, perhaps the UK receipt, if you still have it
  21. HW makes lovely basses. If I wanted such a bass, it would be HW all the way
