  1. I have a set of these on a P bass but since I moved house I don't have any bass amps with me (still in storage) so I dont know how they sound. They feel ok, maybe a bit stiff but I only really play my JMJ mustang these days. I'l bring my BLX-80 home soon and try it out
  2. Focus estate Personally I have a ford galaxy
  3. I agree with this. I use a 500 watt Ashdown Rootmaster through a small mark bass 1x15 and sometimes I add a small MB 2x10. Even works outside with a little PA support
  4. as the Saturday afternoon bass slapping monster arrives, it'll all be tappity tappity tappity!! Happy days
  5. this is the second edition watch. I've ordered one, I'm a bit of a Brian May fan and I regularly gig with a Red Special in my 80s duo. Interest free credit over 3 years, won't even notice the monthly payment
  6. simply, yes. I go to guitar shops and look bt rarely try anything
  7. I've only just spotted the Ginger one
  8. I do like the 3D bridge. My original black P bass had one but I swapped it out to a BBOT. Then when I bought the '73, I put the 3D on it and have grown to love the profile. I have no idea how it affects the sound because I changed it 30 years ago and back then, I couldn't really tell
  9. yep I hoped she'd look up but she didn't
  10. personally I'd keep the MM and the '73 as the '73 will continue to go up in value. Or just keep them all, if you don't need the money and have the space, keep 'em
  11. just finished putting this together. jazz neck, custom shop 62 pickup. 3D bridge. Flats Haven't plugged it in yet. my first p bass looked like this, includinf the schaller bridge. It's a nice weight, about 4kg I reckon. Northwest body and neck, sourced from here
  12. Welcome to you from River in Kent. No question is a silly question here (except when someone says 'do I need another bass'...................YES) obvious really
  13. Good luck with the move, going anywhere exotic? Addisham, Aylesham, Wingham perhaps!!😁
  14. can you take the other screws out? Then lift the bridge away over the broken screw. Then clamp the screw and remove it. if it it still unreachable, drilling maybe the answer
  15. I'm going to build 2 in my new music room. I've just moved house and have all my guitars in cases, in wardrobes atm. 😎🤣
  16. https://rexterguitars.co.uk/pages/refinishing just googled this. No idea who they are but it's a start
  17. There's even a gold schaller 3D bridge for sale on here, in other items for sale. £55
  18. my wife has the white PB70 US in white and I can vouch for it being a fabulous bass
  19. I'm doing a similar build atm. I've used 2nd hand Northwest Guitar parts body and neck (£200 ). 62 custon shop fender pickup (£70) 2nd hand schaller 3D bridge (£45), Kiogon loom (cant remember), ebay scratchplate (£10) Got my usual luthier putting it together, this is a tribute to my first ever P bass. Approx 1980, black with a maple board. I found a video of my band from 1988, with me playing the black bass. It looked superb and sounded great, so I thought I would recreate it I just to go and collect it, as it's made now
  20. my first bass was a 2 pickup version, which I bought in 1981. It was actually very playable. I learned a lot in the 3 or so years I had it. I even learned how to slap on it. It was new years eve and my older brothers got me drunk on Gin (I was 12/13) and I learned to play My Own Way by Duran Duran.
