  1. yes they did a great cover of Unbelievable by EMF (we also covered this version) and the Madonna song, 'Express Yourself' I saw them at Donnington in '94 and again at The Forum (Kentish Town?)
  2. did that have the weird mid-sweep tone pot. Sounded a bit like a wah wah IIRC
  3. My band covered the single 'Money' back in the 90s. I thought the songs were good and I saw them a couple of times Just listening to the album now, at work, still sounds good
  4. I used to sell a lot of them, when I worked in a music shop in 1989-91. there were pointy ESPs too Charvettes literally flew out the door
  5. I've been able to buy the strap buttons seperatley for ages. Allparts IIRC
  6. I've still got a BLX80 and a hartke 2x10 HA1400 combo. Everything else is class D and neo. Even my guitar amp is new technology. Vox MV50 AC. It's awesome but it goes into a vintage 30 loaded cab. My pedal board weighs more than the 1x12 cab, now that needs addressing. I still have all my old guitar amps, an early 80s 50 watt Marshall head, Vox AC30 CC2X, WKZ Little Devil 50 watt head, WKZ Little Devil 50 watt 1x12 Combo and last but not least (you guessed it ) WKZ El Diablo 18 watt 1x12 combo. Various 4x12 cabs (all WKZ of course). None of which will probably be used in anger ever again. All far too heavy for my aging shoulders
  7. why dont you just use a UK mains lead. Same voltage etc etc. My QSC rig came the same, with euro plugs but IIRC they had chucked in UK ones too
  8. and the singers, they wouldn't know when to come in🤣
  9. My friend and part time band mate blew £20K on a 1954 Les Paul Goldtop. Took it straight to the boozer for his gigs, but sold it in the end as he was worried about it being nicked/damaged etc. I try not to gig with expensive guitars and basses now, that way I really dont worry about them
  10. I'm looking for a 2nd black JMJ Mustang for my wife. She loves mine and wants her own
  11. +1 for the Police. Really really fantastic
  12. very good, loved it (it's not often I listen to the whole thing either)
  13. passive here too (except my Ibby MC940). Everything fully open, always I haven't used the ibanez for so long, I cant remember. Probably active with all eqs in the middle and volume full up
  14. I used to get a drill out too, Tubescreemer on full , octave pedal and chorus. Mental
  15. superb idea, I may try that at my next (last) Policed gig, next weekend
  16. My mrs joined customs and Excise, many many moons ago. She tells tales of lots of drinking lol. It sounded like a great place. She has regularly gigged whilst on shifts. It can be done, also easier when you're younger. In my mid fifties now, I couldn't imagine doing a gig after a run of nights, or early shifts, but at 19 I would gig, be out all night and then go to work
  17. I have the X1204 and replaced it with the Allen & Neath Zed 10-FX. The Zed 10-FX has much better sounding pre amps in it. Much much more warm and musical. Defo worth the extra money (I also have a Zed 22FX, which is now 10 years old and still going strong)
  18. Amazed by Lone Star the bruno mars song, Marry you (or what ever it's called)
