  1. and he has big hands
  2. yes, it was unbelievably good
  3. £1200 should get you a cracker. I haven't played many modern USA examples so can't comment on them but I have played a fair few Japan models, all of which were excellent. I bought my wife a Jap PB70US in olympic white, nearly 15 years ago. It is a lovely bass here's a gratuitous picture for you (paid £350 for it)
  4. When I first DI d my PF500 the guy on the desk said it was a very hot signal. I've had no problem with mine at all. Just turn the gain down on the desk and all is/was fine (I dont use my PF500 as my main now, it's just a spare)
  5. I think I sold 4 recently, don't think I've bought a bass since my JMJ Mustang in June 2021. This is POOR FORM 🤣
  6. yep I have 4 Vintage 6 strings. An SG, JD telecaster, 335 a-like and an old Geoff Whitehorn signature. They are all very good instruments, particularly the Jerry Donahue telecaster. My older brother had a Vintage P bass. It was giggable straight out of the box. Great hardware and pickups too
  7. Yep, I've seen the SharpeeZ but not for a good few years. I'll keep my eyes peeled
  8. isn't he just. Who do you play with, with Clive?
  9. got my first p bass 6/7 years after i started playing. I was already gigging 3-4 nights a week in a pub band. It changed my world. My main one now is a '73. Had it 32 years. It works for me JMJ mustang is also awesome. Same neck profile too, but shorter and easier as the arthritis in my shoulders kicks in.
  10. I saw a band last night, had Clive Edwards on drums. He played in UFO for a few years. My favourite drummer at the moment. Such feel and groove (Rhino was on bass too, it was marvellous) Also saw Pete Way's band a few years ago. Clive on drums again and Lawrence Archer on guitar, another excellent evening
  11. I bought this, in a trade, just before lockdown 1 (about then) and had it in the lounge. I moved last december and it hasnt been out of its case since. Lovely thing, almost mint and light too
  12. tis annoying working with people that dont know what they're doing. I played a fairly well known gig in Watford with my Police tribute. QSC pa system, great I thought Sound guy didn't have a clue
  13. thanks for the info. I will try it on the next band gig
  14. how did you find this🤣
  15. What about playing outside Bill. I do a couple of gigs each year, outside, no stage. I've been using the subs either side of the playing area with the top cabs on top of the subs. From this I think the top cabs should be higher on separate stands, should the subs be at the side, next to each other (they can't go in the centre)
  16. I do an 80s duo, with backing tracks and live keys and live guitar and they are amazing with this too. (this is without the subs and the deep switch engaged) Never have DId the bass through the tops only so cant comment, sorry
  17. I can chuck this into the mix. I run 2 x QSC K12 and 2 x QSC Ksub with an Allen & Heath ZedFX desk. When I play bass with this setup, I DI my Ashdown RM500 EVO 2 into it. I set the desk flat and I get a fabulous bass sound out front. The QSC gear is amazing. I haven't heard the K12.2 and new sub so I can't comment. People always comment on my sound quality
  18. wishing you all very best of basschat for this Fingers crossed
  19. I actually quite like that Theodore, 2 P90s, what's not to like I bought a Slash AFD guitar in 2010, brand new and unseen from Andertons. It was £2K. They made 600 of them. I didn't much like the top on it but it is an amazing souding guitar. I gigged it hard for about 4 years but it's now resting in its case, in the music room. It's very difficult to guess what will appreciate in value but I once saw on the TV, buy it if you love it because if you love it, somebody else will too. I always wanted a Red Fender Precision special from the early 80s too, with a maple board and just as we went into lockdown I did a deal with my Steinberger and got one. I love it but it's so clean I don't want to gig it. I may even hang it on the wall. And my latest purchase, possibly to make a bit of money, is a signed Brian May Red Special. I have been gigging the natural one for over 2 years now, a really great sounding guitar
  20. I'm going to see the searchers next year. I'm quite looking forward to it. Saw Meat Loaf a few years back, he was awful but the band were amazing, so we stayed.
  21. can you play 'Sweet Caroline' 'er no, sorry' (of course I fkn can)
  22. I used to use the Harmony G-XT with great sucess. But it's just sitting on my pedal board these days. That first Damo video has superb pedal use
  23. I use the behringer B205 in my duo. I roll all the bass off because the bottom end comes thru the main PA. It has the out front mix so we can hear the balance etc. It's very good and I've been using it for 4 years now
