  1. I had something like that. Cherry red stain. Wonderfully made but I didn't really understand the electrics. It was 32 years ago and I was 20 years old. I'd only been playing for 5/6 years and was still learning about all things. Wish I could try it now
  2. hey mate that's stinky poo. I hope you can get it sorted Good luck with the hunt
  3. how many boss pedals would fit on this please thanks
  4. Alan went back to plumbing until they reformed IIRC. That's 3 of them gone now
  5. Have just seen this on his FB page. This is heart braking news
  6. I do an 80s duo (amazing fun). We have live guitar and the keys player does as much as he possibly can. It goes down an absolute storm and no one has ever questioned the use of the backing tracks, so I wouldn't worry too much about it. We buy ready made tracks which you change levels of various parts or drop them out all together.
  7. Recently purchased a p bass body and this was fitted to it. I have a schaller 3D for this project so I'm passing this on A fiver includes postage in the uk only
  8. if you want to use them, use them. The punters wont care. However, if a muso comes up to you and expresses concern about the backing tracks, just ask them why they aren't out working! Usually shuts them up. As I've said before, your job is to entertain the punters, so do what you have to
  9. yep me too, just bought a P bass body from Matt superb packaging as well as a superb P bass body deal with confidence cheers mart
  10. I'm no fan of tort guards but that looks fantastic
  11. I'm Sting in a Police tribute but used the Hartke gear in a 60s band, a classic rock band, a Jam tribute, a blues band. Mainly with Fender Precision basses
  12. I used a Hartke HA3500 for many years, through a Hartke transporter 4x10. It was simply brilliant. Then I went all lightweight, so sold the Hartke gear
  13. My '73. Bought in 1990 from Boogie Music IIRC. Done thousands of gigs on this. Light, perfect sound, everybody who plays it, loves it. A real players guitar too. I will sell it when I retire from playing although that won't be for a while yet (I'm 52) Always love to post a picture of the old girl
  14. This is a great site. Well done everyone
  15. what makes a great bass easy snake oil
  16. mostly pick, purple tortex maybe 1.14mm usually Roto's RS66 (La bella on the hofner) Usually Fender P ( a choice of several)but a good chance to post my favourite from 1973 could be Ibanez Musician MC940 fretless, Hofner violin bass, Rickenfakers x 2, (depends on the gig) Cable, Whirlwind maybe, there's certainly one in my case amp (currently Ashdown RM500 Evo 2) cab (currently mark bass club 1x15 and 2x10) Nothing else, clip on tuner or the tuner on my phone
  17. Centre forward must be John Entwhistle
  18. I've no idea to be honest. I was going into the studio and decided to check the electronics under the scratchplate. The pots weren't soldered very well (if at all) so I just replaced them and kept the ceramic capacitor. I threw them out, whatever they were. No one wanted P basses back then (1990). In hindsight, obviously, I would have kept them. (I'm sure they were knackered though, I don't often throw things out)
  19. I have my eye on one of these atm. Once my Brian May is paid for (interest free over 9 months, bought last july) I may jut pull the trigger with another interest free purchase
  20. those pots look like the ones on my '73, which I replaced in 1991 with ESP parts
  21. Ozzy at The Leas Cliffe hall, circa 1988/89. Zak Wilde on guitar. It was too loud, even in the bar. Shame really as I was interested in seeing Zak play
