  1. keep the size of the box as short as possible because it will be cheaper to send I used Eurosender because BC gets a discount BASSCHAT10 is the code IIRC Also, I always write the delivery name and address ON THE BOX, just in case the label comes off. I also write where it's come from too
  2. Vintage V52. If they're anything like my 335 alike and SG alike, they will be plenty good
  3. Looks nice Bob, you could always add secondary dots on the side, level with the lines. I built a fretless P bass with no lines on the maple board and the dots were where they would have been on a fretted bass. I installed black dots where the frets would have been and it works perfectly
  4. There's been a lot of sliding pickup things over the years but that really does demonstrate how pickup position really is the key
  5. I only use the smallest amount but it can get quite hairy can't it. I discovered the pre shape now too, didnt use it until my last gig in March. Sounded fab
  6. another inspirational video. Guy has made me want to improve my playing. I actually pick up my 'lounge' bass and practice on it now and I'm even playing without a pick!!
  7. I have the RM500 evo II. Fab amp, great drive sound too. Love it and it only weighs 2.5Kg
  8. As the title says. What are they like? How do they sound?
  9. i picked up a mint marshall JTM-45. White back panel, plexi front can't remember the year for 100 quid. Sold it a couple of years later about '93 for 400 quid. Wish I had kept it. worth a fortune now. I bought a mint E-series squier strat for 100 quid 16 years ago. Awesome guitar, still have it. PRS signature series from 1989 for 1500 quid. Swapped a marshall super bass from 1973 for a '67 SG jr (not sure who had the best deal there) Walked into the bass centre in 1991. Only had 450 quid but fell in love with a status 4000 for £695. I said to Martin in there, I only have 450 quid, he checked what he had paid for the status and sold it to me for £450. I was chuffed to bits
  10. I've just seen on FB they have a new owner and are out of administration Great news
  11. to be honest, what you have probably sounds the same (if it's made the same)
  12. it's probably the same. I got mine 7 years ago, it went in my Bravewood Sting replica. I wanted it to be as authentic to Sting's bass as possible
  13. I got it 7 years ago. Maybe they dont bring it in anymore, I dont know. But it was a custom shop job, and quite expensive IIRC
  14. it was the one Sting used in his 57 only his is wired in parallel. I wire it in series. It says, 'Stinger' on the bottom
  15. get your switch from wd products in the uk. email them a picture and I'm sure you'll get the right bit https://www.wdmusic.co.uk/
  16. I have a seymour duncan stack '51. Sounds nice but because the pole pieces are flat, the E and the G are louder than the A & D. I find it irritating and have to use a little compression to sort it
  17. we covered that in about 8 years ago. Fab song, great harmonies. Needs a tambourine to make that shaker noise at the start
  18. the problem is the length. DHL have a length limit which adds a surcharge. I shipped a bass to the czech republic via Eurosender. I kept the length of the package to 136cm x 49 x25cm. costed about 60euro, including full insurance up to 2000 pounds. It took a while, there was a bank holiday in the way but it turned up ok
  19. some people used to undervalue the goods, so the customs charges would be less, but then you cant insure for the full value I bought some guitars from the states 15-16 years ago. It was way cheaper back then, 2 dollars to the pound etc. You actually have to pay duty on the shipping charge (It is added to the goods value) and then VAT on the whole lot
  20. until 31st december nothing changes in the eu. After that, who knows what will happen
  21. if you're buying from within the EU, there is no duty and taxes. you pay the price and that's it If , however, it is outside the eu, then you'll have to pay duty and VAT
  22. I met her in the lift in our hotel in Brighton. I carried her bag up the last flight of stairs. It was a great gig Met her again in the lift in the morning
