sounds to me cover band. BL heart not in it anymore. This happened to me last year. My band had been going 30 years (4 years with me as BL) Too much apathy and a Richard of a guitar player, so I let it fizzle out. Said I would honour all booked gigs. Tell them you are leaving at the end of the year. Originals band #1. can't be arsed. Just leave, stop wasting your time New orignals band, run with it. Look for new covers band. I turned 50 last year and have decided to only gig for fun. I want decent pay too. I'm just not playing for Richard head landlords or Richard head punters. I gig for pleasure, if I am enjoying it, I put on a better show

his main is a 57. I had the Sting signature for a while and it sort of purred. Ash body, maple board. Nice bass but then I had a replica made of his 57. Alder body, more thump but lovely

REDUCED TO £450.00 I have decided to sell my Musicman. i had one of these when they first came out. Used it, sold it, the usual thing. I bought this about 5 years ago I think. Did some gigs with it but mainly keep it in the rehearsal studio for when we practice. I'm just not using it these days as I have fallen in love with my '73 P bass again. It's in pretty decent nick for one of these. Original scratch plate is in the gig bag. Sounds like a Stingray should. I can now courier this for free in the UK I'm in Deal in Kent but work in Folkestone if you want to try it out No trades please, I've got too much stuff already

I have decided to sell my Moog Minitaur set up as I just don't use it anymore. It's been attached to a Pedal Train 2 board, along with the Keith McMillen 12 step controller and the midi expander. It's all you need to get Moog Taurus with no weight I bought this 6 years ago for my Police tribute. I set it up every gig and it sounds amazing. I don't do many Police shows these days and haven't used it for a couple of years now. I plugged it in, it all works as it should. Somewhere I may have boxes and manuals but I have moved house since I bought it all. I'll have a look though. It doesn't take up any space and I'm not desperate to sell. £550 is a great price for all this kit No trades and I will not split. It's a great set up I can possibly courier or you can come to see me in Deal, drink tea (or beer, I'm near the train station) eat biscuits and have a play of any of my Sting style basses

I once had a custom built bass, lovely neck, great sound. It lacked...........................don't know. It was rattly and just a bit rattly I took it to my local luthier, 'Have a look at this Andy' Andy fret dressed it. It still fkn rattled. Andy suggested changing the strings (the strings on it were new) So I put a set of my trusted RS66 on it Rattle? What rattle? Strings, yeah, they're quite important really

Following on from does anybody play air bass, here's my story About 15 years ago, I used to do solo gigs. Playing guitar and singing, using the lick library backing tracks. Mainly classic rock stuff. One night in The Dublin man o War (just outside Dover in a place called River) I was doing my stuff when I see two blokes shuffling behind me. It was a friend of mine called Neil. He was with an older chap. Neil was giving it large on the Air bass and his mate was sitting down behind me, playing air drums. Topper Headon!! (he lives up the road)

Chrome plating or Re Chroming Advice
police squad replied to B.Flat's topic in Repairs and Technical
I worked in chrome plating for many many years. 1, you can drill your hole etc 2, send the bridge plate to the chroming company. Here they will strip existing plating back to the bare metal 3, They will probably need to re-polish the metal (we would have), so that the visible surfaces are free from any marks, pitting etc 4, Then they will re-chrome. They may put a light coating of copper first (sometimes we did, sometimes we didn't) then nickel then the chrome top coat. Much of the work involved is in the polishing of the stripped metal. Sometimes we would increase the price because you just know a particular job is going to be a nightmare (some jobs are, some customers are) We still have some chrome/ nickel/ zinc plating done where I work (we shut our plating shop 18 years ago. It was a health and safety nightmare and becoming harder every day) We use a company called Butterworths, based in Ramsgate. They could probably re-do your bridge. We would have charged a minimum price, which was £25 plus vat. (if, however it was someone I knew/ liked it would have been free) -

South east kent. Total Jam have their own bass player . I played with them at the start (cue bass line, ) and for a bit a few years ago. I must admit to really liking the Paul Weller stuff, especially The Style Council number we do. (and I get to play all the guitar solos, which is a change for me these days)
