  1. I had that Stagg stand for my stagg 3/4 EUB. it was perfect
  2. I was in an originals rock band in the late 80s. We were very big locally, all young kids were our fans. Tight trousers, hair, pointy headstocks and double bass drums. We eventually split but did get together and rehearse with the view to doing a couple of gigs Then the guitarist ran off with the drummers wife
  3. yes, all the best and look after yourself
  4. my 80s duo is backing tracks but without guitar and keys, as we both play them There was a full band for a while that went out for 300 quid a gig. 75 quid each. It was mostly live, we did use the occasional BT but then the drummer left so we put the drums on the BTs and carried on. now we get 100 quid each. bands are charging much more now and pubs, largely, can't afford it, so have gone down the solo/duo thing Frankly, I dont want to watch people sing to backing tracks, if they're playing guitar/bass/keys and using BT I think that's ok I am very lucky to be an ok singer. I am confident that what I do is good. I know when I'm beaten too
  5. he was a car sprayer for many years and still has some equipment but no where to do it. we're going to do it at my factory and see what happens. I'm looking at paint from Custom Paints Ltd. So far they've been very helpful in choosing the colours after I sent them pictures of the AC basses that I want to replicate
  6. so the impressions thing I read on here that you should bite on something when having the impression done, to ensure a good seal. I spoke to a hearing specialist recently and he said if you're a singer you shouldn't do the bite thing during the mould But if you dont sing, then do the bite. any thoughts?
  7. agreed, I have a neck with those inlays on the way, some bodies I won in auction and a mate that can spray it for me
  8. what kind of bridge does it have? BBOT or Badass II
  9. superb, I shall be reading this now thank you
  10. I use the right guitars for those that know. I will also be looking at how he acts on stage and his outfits
  11. cool, I'll see what I can do. It's probably a poly finish but so was my Andy Summers Tele and that looks ok
  12. I've won 3 P bass bodies from the Chris Cross sale at Gardiner Holgate. These will be duly filled and sprayed in the metal flake gold and purple. I'll try and relic the sunburst body to get that beaten up P bass too
  13. cool but actually what I've done is keep it original by mending it. Someone else would have changed the pot. They are a strange looking pot, not like a CTS or anything
  14. why? It didnt work and now it does
  15. I repaired a volume pot on my 1964 Hofner last week. Prized off the cover plate and the bits inside the pot looked good, they just weren't touching. A wiggle with some pliers and presto, working again put the base plate back on and instead of rivets, inserted some wire and twisted it, to hold it together
  16. I was going to repurpose my fretless, new neck and paint job is there fretless on any of the songs in the set list I posted That means I'll need rounds and flats, I've lost count now. 6 basses to every gig?
  17. great, we can have a beer together
  18. When I played on the same bill at Chinnerys, he used, a strat, a 12 string Ric, Gretsch, Explorer and something else I cant remember. This was for a 70 minute set. His rig was in stereo too. 2 x Blackstar heads and two 2x12 cabs. Guitars tuned to E and Eb.
  19. I did the taurus thing in my Police tribute, they're unique but not this time
