1. Lovely! Where in the uk are you?
2. Nice! Where are you? Essex eh?
3.
Do you have pictures of the cracks that are still there? And what strings are on there? And what model is the pickup?
I'll get some pics for you. Pickup is fishman BP 100 I think. Strings - can't remember what my luthier put on but they were for mainly pizz but also usable for arco. They were a big name premium brand - I'll try to recall.
4. Hi there, I'm looking for these bad boys: They seem quite hard to get hold of. I think Hipshot make them but I don't know if I need the HB2, HB6 or HB7. Has anyone found some? What are my options? Thanks! Mike
5. An answer already! No butterbean tuners sadly but an encouraging fast response.
6.
Limelight won't build you an unreliced bass as it requires a higher standard of finish. I wanted a custom jazz and that is what I was told... I ordered one from Peterbuilt in the end.
Thanks - I actually like the relic'd look so fine for me. Probably keep it light though! I have a 1975 original Fender Jazz which is quite relic'd for real! EMAIL SENT
7.
you could just ask limelight to build you one that is probably better to play for about £800-£1000 and then not lose £6-700 in devaluation after buying a new fender..... or you could probably specify a Custom Shop build for a few hundred quid more and it'll probably hold value far better because it is then a Custom Shop
Thanks for this - am now slightly obsessed about Limelight basses and am about to compose an email. Cheers!
8. Is that a clear plastic cover on the repair?
9. Some great posts here. Thanks everyone for the suggestions and advice. I think on reflection it was a moment of madness. I'll keep an eye for a second hand one but I appreciate everyone's input! Regards Mike
10. The Fender Adam Clayton model. Is it the colour? Matching headstock? Blocks? Butterbean tuners? It's £1467 from GAK. Why do I want it? Am I mad? I don't even like U2. What do you people think? 11. That's a good shout - thanks!
12. Hi all. I'm based in Chelmsford and wondered if any people close by had recommendations for reliable guitar techs. I have traditionally used Mike Walsh or gone to the Gallery but was curious about alternatives. I'm looking for ramps being added to my jazz basses. Cheers! Mike
13. Yes, definitely just a low bass-range vocal doubling the bass guitar.
14. Hey Richard. I believe it is laminate back and sides and carved front. Thanks. M
15. I'll accept £750 on this now.
16. Roland Gaia. Analog sensibilities, no screen, only knobs, but digital, so saved patches!
17. Hi everyone. I'm selling a Romanian Stentor/Andreas Zeller double bass in Chelmsford. I've had it for a few years and it's been worked on by brilliant luthier Martyn Bailey. He's replaced the bridge (one with risers), reset sound post, repaired a cracked neck, added a really nice new spike, new strings, planed the fingerboard and generally made it a really nice instrument. I've spent a fortune on these repairs and upgrades but I'm selling it for £850 (or very near offer). It comes with a bag and fishman pickup. You're welcome to come and play it of course! As I mentioned, the neck was broken at some point in its history, but it is a solid repair and recently Martyn redid the repair (big bolt through it!) There are a few unimportant cracks here and there, and it looks a little rough around the edges but otherwise fine. 18. I use the Roland Gaia and love it. Perfect for modern pop stuff.
19. Does anyone have any spotify or other playlists highlighting Pino's playing? I'd love to hear more.
20. If it's still available for whatever reason, I'm interested.
21. I'd love to check it out at some point Chris - not sure when I can get to Canterbury though. I'll check the diary. What's your availability during the day on a weekday?
22. Just saw this. Thanks Richard! I have availability for more students. Please get in touch via www.mikemcgibney.com or mikemcgibneyATgmailDOTcom.
23. I always have to post when I see something about Wunjo. So far I've bought 2 USA Jazz deluxes (4&5 string) so around £2700ish plus accessories like strings and hercules holders - the reason? Because of the great, friendly, not-overbearing service, and their ability to match internet prices. Laurence always recognises me too and greets me warmly like an old friend, telling me to play what I like and giving me space. I'm so glad other people are having such positive experiences too. Thank christ we have a bass store in Denmark St now which is customer service savvy. I would always go out of my way to travel into London to give them my custom as I'm so pleased with their service. I think if you've had a great experience, let them know via email - I'm sure management and the staff involved would really appreciate it. "][email protected]
