  1. I know him a bit and have friends who are close to him - I'll have a dig. EDIT: I've sent him a text message sending him our best.
  2. Nice!! Thanks for sharing.
  3. I like that track too. Sting is using a Fender Jaco fretless on it, is he?
  4. Ah, I see! That makes sense. Good luck! Looks like a lovely bass at a good price, can't say I'm not tempted! Not as easy to bring items into the UK now, sadly.
  5. To calculate shipping costs, it would be useful to know what part of the country/continent/planet you're on. Out of interest, why are you only selling it for a week?
  6. This is epic! Would love to hear it sometime. Such a great idea! I would be interested in a LS sig bass for sure.
  7. Cheers Frank. To be honest, I have only worked on one specific ship, and it's not part of a cruise line (this one) so my experience will not be the usual. And I was only on 3 week contracts. But if it's helpful, double bass and amp were provided, I played every night for three hours (that gets the old stamina together, especially on an unfamiliar double bass) in a jazz trio. As this ship is quite quiet, often there is only a handful of people we were playing to. If no-one, we'd play standards changing key each time and doing metric modulations. Good fun! (apparently) I was lucky as I didn't have to share a cabin and had modified guest status, but had I had the opportunity to it for longer periods when I was younger and single I would have done it. See the world, get your chops together, get out before you get too jaded!
  8. Exceptional service! Nice one.
  9. Still saying that in the weekly emails 7 months later! Makes me chuckle every time.
  10. Not sure. Website no longer operational and last email I had was [email protected] - but no Christmas emails since 2008!
  11. Is it passive please? Are there any more details online about specs/measurements etc? Any sound clips or anything? Thanks Mike
  12. This track was written and demoed by Seth Tackaberry (British bassist you can see with Cory here). He says he sent it to Cory and is delighted it's been recorded. Even his placeholder bass solo at the start was accurately represented!
  13. Completely agree - same thing happened to me. I was going with that company even though they weren't the cheapest, I needed the items ASAP. Very frustrating!
  14. Ooh, I like that 51 (/53/54/55!)…… 👀

    GEOFIO FEEDBACK.

Great seller, fast delivery and good packaging. Excellent comms - a pleasure! Thanks!
  16. Where is this please?
  17. I have multiple basses with Sadowsky preamps (including one Sadowsky!) as well as the pedal and can confirm that, while there are small sonic differences, the Sad pedal really does give your passive bass a Sadowsky vibe. Probably to do with the specific freq boosts, but it just breathes new life into my vintage Fenders!
  18. Good luck - have you read this whole thread? Hope you manage it.
  19. I've got 7 mutual friends with him on FB - going to post warning about this. Good luck to those trying to get their money back.
  20. Initially 5, then revised down to 2-3. This was two years ago (so costs may have gone up) but he quoted around £1180 (that was sunburst which is a little extra).
  21. I spoke to Mark at Limelight about commissioning a Sting-style reliced 50s bass. Because it would require more unusual parts he said it would be easier if a few people wanted to order. We talked prices, and he seems up for doing it. I've been using a Limelight '66' P/J that he made me a few years ago and still love it!
  22. Late to the party, but I have a Woodline Handmade 5 and it's absolutely superbly made. I had a Sadowsky preamp put in and it's stunning.
  23. What a beautiful pair! Really suit your playing.
