1. Still waiting...
2. Almost gone twice but still here! Will include a mint Behringer V-amp in the package for free if the buyer wants it
3. Cheers Col! The one word that springs to mind when holding this bass is "perfection". Better sounding, more ergonomic and much lighter than Alembics and Foderas imho...
4. HNY bump And price reduction to 2700£!
5. Last bump of the year, probably
6. Bumping it
7. Up it goes
8.
+ 1
Folks, I beg to differ. Marcus Miller couldn't do his thing with an off the shelf, no name bass with incredibly high action and dead strings. Which is what you get in generic guitar stores. It is physically impossible. That's why I am a bit allergic to generic advice and the it's all in the fingers stuff. If you're a teenager wanting to be Mark King and what you get for Xmas is a Precision with heavy gauge strings, it'll take you years to approach the sound, and you will never hear what you want. If you don't hear what you want, and people are saying what you guys say, you'll think it is your fault. It certainly may not inspire you to persevere. It is not about cheap or expensive, but to know about basses. I don't think GAS is about cheap or expensive either. Now, let's face it: if there was absolutely no advantage in a high-end bass, no one would make them.
9. But coming from a guy that sponsors a high end bass (and I love mine), and that repeatedly rants about economy of movement in the left hand... Try that on a chunky precision, see how much economy you get. His point is fair, but beginners should also be told some things about neck radius and profile, types of strings, PU position, etc having an immense effect on sound. To preach that it's all in the fingers is deceiving. Once you've reached a certain level, and with a decent instrument decently set up, it's mostly in the fingers - if you have some talent. That'd be more accurate IMHO. You will get to that level faster if you have a bass that suits you from the get go. Not any bass.
10. Certainly the specs of his signature basses are everything but ordinary (PU position, string spacing, scale...).
11. We can always trade Coras for the strangest deal ever in BC 😊
12. Here we go
13. I admire MK, and I was a L42 fan. The most surprising for me however was how terrific he is on acoustic guitar too - judging by the acoustic versions they released these past years. A natural born musician.
14. Wow... Beautiful Does the Roland unit have an EU or UK power supply?
15. Hi So I've ended up for some reason with a surplus of basses - as I usually do. So I am letting go of this beauty - an ABSOLUTELY beautiful bass, the coolest I've owned. Got it from Scooby here on BC recently via a trade - it is an amazing instrument but I could do with some cash. You know the score: immaculate attention to detail, perfect construction, tone to die for. Specs are here: https://ritter-instruments.com/item_info.php?i=484 It is incredibly easy and comfortable to play, with a fantastic neck and amazing fretboard. It captures every nuance of your playing, and it elegantly navigates a thin line between a classic single coil and a smooth modern tone, with lots of growl and punch but without a hint of harshness. Electronics are top notch! All in all, a world-class instrument - I prefer it to every Alembic and Fodera I've ever tried. And it only weighs 3.5 kg! Condition is excellent, there's just some light scratching on the back near the back plate - the rest is mint. Full flightcase and shipping included. Straight sale price is 3000£. - now 2700£!! Cash is king, but would consider trades for Fbass, Ken Smith, Zon and the like, preferably with some cash my way. 16. these are seriously good basses - buy with confidence, Dennis is a great seller and buyer. I'd buy it myself if I didn't have one already (but with a rosewood board... mmm...maybe I should buy a maple one? )
17. Isa has impeccable taste, and always great prices!
18. I hate relicing of any sort, but this one is inexplicably attractive...
19. Why not two categories: Fodera and Everything else. 😊
20. Clearly the market has slowed down. It takes ages to move on most stuff, except for pedals and cheap basses. My theory is that those that could spend money have taken advantage of these past few years to buy lots of stuff at good prices - now they've ended up with too many basses and realise some have to go. Those that couldn't spend still can't (probably even less so), and can only trade at best. As a consequence, there's lots of more or less expensive stuff 'for sale only' (the people that have too much stuff, plus those needing cash) that sits for ages, eventually traded most of the time. With a few exceptions if you get lucky and there is a person or two (but don't expect more) out there that wants exactly the item you're selling. All other considerations about ads, etc don't help, but are secondary I think.
21. Just completed a trade with Pete, couldn't be any easier! We quickly agreed on a deal, communication was easy, the bass arrived perfectly packaged and shipping was perfectly in sync on both ends. Highly recommended! Cheers Pete!
22. Lovely - pity it is FS only
23. My experience is that shielding is a must on Laklands, well done. GLWTS
