1. Bump - come on boys and girls, fantastic no loger in production tele here
2. Barcelona, Spain. I always ship with UPS standard, typically takes 3 days to get to a UK destination. You can check my BC feedback (link in my signature). Cheers
3. Bump - other trade possibilities include Elrick, Wal, ACG and other modern stuff with cash adjustments within reason
4. Indeed - no guitarists out there? I am the first owner too!
5. The Jerzy is a 4 string - lovely, not for sale for now
6. Hi So somehow I ended up with three wonderful 5-stringers, so up for grabs is this extraordinary Mayones, in practically mint condition. Truly a work of art. All info from the previous thread here: http://basschat.co.u...bp-video-added/ The feel of this bass is amazing - akin to an Alembic - the solidity, perfect construction, the sheen, ebony fingerboard all contributing to it. Very low action, excellent playability. The preamp is wonderful - never overwhelming, very musical. Cash price would be 1700£, including shipping with an equally mint Mayones hard case. Temporarily reduced to 1500£! Regarding trades, I might be interested in a Ken Smith, MTD or Fodera (for the sole reason that I've never owned one of them) or a Mayones 4-string. Dingwalls would also be of potential interest. A fretless 4 I could consider as well because I am fretless-less at the mo'... Straight sale still preferred in any case. Cheers!

8. If one wants an excuse to kill GAS, you can say it is in the fingers and be done with it I think when people allude to fingers they mean that one eventually realises how much of the tone is in the player. But of course that depends on a bass that reacts to your playing, a neck that allows you to move instinctively, etc. Without the proper tools, fingers can do nothing. Conversely, the best bass in the world is useless if you don't know how to approach it. Ideally, the bass and rig is such that what you feel is translated into sound to perfection. With time, you can detect where the bottleneck is in the continuum heart (or soul)-brain-fingers-bass-amp-sound I think...
9. All Boss RCs I've had (RC-20XL, RC-30, RC-2 I think) slightly changed the tone, so if you're a purist check before you buy. If you're playing live I don't think it will be too noticeable. On the other hand, timing is critical so switch type is an important aspect.
10. Have you tried Elixir strings before? Yes, several times What other brands are you familiar with? D'addario nickel and steel, DR, Status Hotwire, Zon What bass(es) will you try the new strings on? Most likely Alembic Series I, Dingwall Super J, Roscoe LG3005, Lakland JO What sort of environment will you be playing them in (e.g studio, gigging, practicing) Studio, practice Why do you think you'll be a good candidate to test the strings? I can easily report on strings durability as regards retaining brightness with heavy percussive styles. I am also very sensitive to string flexibility.
11. Might be cheaper to go to the Atahualpa or whatever mountains and do the whole ceremony again to connect a Squier with Julius Caesar
