    Yamaha THR series are stereo, have line input, connect to computer via USB and have effects. Just use the 'clean' setting and you get full range. Battery powered and sound pretty good.     I had a Zoid - really nice. If you play finger style jazzy stuff, it is top notch. For slap, not so much. As with many small builders, every instrument tends to be unique though, so worth checking the specs carefully

    Just completed a trade with Roy - all good, bass came very well packaged with fast delivery via FedEx, everything in perfect working order. It was easy to reach an agreement and despite some hiccups in communication due to busy schedules, the deal was a success and he proved to be a trustworthy seller. Cheers Roy!

    I will measure asap early next week as I'm away at the moment. The hipshot bridge is adjustable for string spacing and the nut is rather narrow (probably jazz-like), but I'll add specifics to the ad - cheers

    You need imho an active pre that allows to boost super hi freq without boosting hi mids. Then you can do round and growly fingerstyle with great slap tone at the same time. Strings are only part of the equation

    I have one exactly the same but in natural gloss - got compliments from engineers frequently. This bass started all Bass Collection and Ibanez Soundgears that followed I think... Glwts

    If by effects you mean chorus etc., the loopers mentioned won't have them. I have tried several dedicated loopers (Boss, EHX) and to be honest unless you want extra memory the Zoom B1on does the layer thing and you can change effects for different layers. Rhythms are also much more varied thansay a Boss RC. Not a lot of memory, and you lose the loop when you turn off though. It all depends on what you need (memory, multiple inputs, multiple loops, mono/stereo etc etc) so I'd suggest the looper's delight website for a complete overview. http://www.loopers-delight.com/tools/tools.html

    D'addarios last longer as well. Elixirs much longer, but they start with a little less zing when fresh

    I still have one Spectrum II in snow white, very very similar, but it has both the bird logo and 'westone' on the headstock, the single pickup is closed (no pole pieces visible) and the neck joint is with a plate and four screws a la Fender. Serial nr is on the plate and begins with 89 so I guess it's from that year? Bought in Barcelona around that time - my first bass! It sounds rather good to be honest - very Precision-like.
