1. I have not gone beyond 5, and I think I could handle 6... I enjoy extended ranges, but somehow I keep on thinking that all players that have really made a difference in bass history (for me, at least) were doing so on a 4-string... Except perhaps Mark Sandman, who mostly did on a 2-string fretless! 5ers and 6ers (and others) have bee n around for a while, and there's plenty of excellent players, but I struggle to think about one that has really stirred things up with a 5 or 6 as main instrument. Then again, I am not up to date on so many levels...

3. Cheers Ryan Fantastic bass (easily on par with my Modulus), but a cull is in order... (Part-)Trades possibly considered for Ken Smith, MTD, ACG, Lakland 55s, MM Sabre and other fancy basses - no P, no relics (intended or unintended), no Gibson... You get the idea
4. Nothing fancy but blue it is...
5. Hi Really outstanding bass, but I don't play much fretless these days... ONLY FOR STRAIGHT SALE BEFORE END OF THE YEAR: 650£ It is a USA made, sophisticated 34" fretless bass with a wonderful Modulus neck, lined phenolic fingerboard, two magnetic Peavey pickups and a piezo, with interesting individual volume and panning options via rear cavity controls and a stereo output. 18v preamp. Full detail here: http://www.manualslib.com/manual/120919/Peavey-B-Quad-4.html Lovely white colour! The range of available tones is astonishing, plenty of mwah, fast and easy neck. Even for those without any fretless experience, it is very easy to intonate properly. You can slap on it without any fear. I have rounds on it. Close to mint condition, actually I can't see any damage at all. Will ship in the original fitted Peavey hard case (in just ok condition), well packaged via UPS. Thanks! 6. If you consider shipping to EU at some point, give me a shout
7. For a change, without reservation, I love slap bass. I just love the sound of it. It is funky. I would have never picked up a bass if it weren't for slap. Most importantly, it is fun to play. To those (many) who dismiss it as just a show-off, I could say the same thing of many fingerstyle jazz players who play a thousand notes up and down the neck. I simply can't follow where they're going, and I don't find any musical satisfaction in that, just perhaps be impressed. My bad, nor theirs. If they are enjoying themselves, well that's the whole point. I can be tempted to dismiss it, but it's just that I can't do it. People show off all the time, on all levels, if they can. Money, sport, fiancee, car, whatever. It is human nature. Slap to your heart's content. It is fine. Don't have to justify it, musical context is irrelevant. It is about loving your instrument, having fun and trying to get better. Just my take.
8. Almost gone twice, but still here. As played by Mark King in the famous 2001 live at Reading dvd: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ydg8_Qikhvk http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sPR7mq9YWZA
9. Beautiful - maybe it's a mistake, but what is the issue with the frets and truss rod that you mention? Or did you mean 'no issue'?
