2. An as new vintage reissue bridge with threaded saddles for Precision or Jazz. This along with a number of other items I'll be posting are from a project that is now taking a different direction. Asking for £20 plus postage. Any questions, just ask!
3. For sale - 1996 MIJ '57 RI neck. I bought the full bass a few months ago and sold most of the other parts here on BC. The project I was working on is going in a different direction, hence why this is up for sale. The neck is in great condition. I'm not really sure what these go for, but I've seen similar ones priced well in excess of £200. New asking price is £145 plus postage. Would also consider a trade for a '62 RI neck should anyone be interested. Any questions, just ask!
4. I found it strange that JJ jnr gave My Girl as an example of how his father changed bass.
5. Hope this works: http://video.pbs.org/video/2256479348
6. Thanks for the tip-off. I think it's actually on tomorrow evening though. Just sky+'d it. Someone posted the video here recently, but will be good to have it saved.
7. Cool video. Dunn and Cropper playing off each other is a thing of beauty, but is that Akroyd's mic feeding back throughout?!...it seems to ruin all the best breaks.
8. MJT in the US are a company I'm considering using shortly. They have a website http://mjtagedfinishes.com/ and an ebay store http://stores.ebay.ie/MJT-Aged-Guitar-Finishes with lots of options.

13.
Oh, and please don't shove those feathers TOO deep into my arse I was just helping out a bit . Btw, if you want to go fully vintage correct: add nail-holes and paint the entire neckpocket black
Never heard that saying before, but I get the jist of it. Seriously though, you know your stuff, I don't.... cheers!

16. Thanks Rick! Chrome covers and threaded saddle bridge are already in transit The only parts I haven't ordered yet are the reverse tuners. If anybody has a set for sale drop me a line.
17. So here's my second project. Having sold my '57 AVRI a few months ago I began to regret it a bit so decided to do my own. Loosely based on this: So who knows, a refinshed 57 P Bass could have become an iconic bass had "Black Beauty" not been stolen from Jamerson in the early 60's! So on to the project itself... I started with a 1996 MIJ '57RI and took the neck from that: The body came from a Highway One P Bass. I choose this to get the nitro finish. It's nice and lightweight, and aklthough I've read lots of reports of there being a poly finish under the nitro, the nitro finish on this seems to be really thin. The colour is a flat/matte/satin black, and I haven't decided if I'll gloss it up a bit or not. I think it looks a bit aged in it's current form. Any opinions? Just some of the parts used... For the pickups I've tried to go in more of a period-correct direction than the AVRI's by using the SD Antiquity pickups, and these ones have the raised A pole pieces too. Thanks again to Mr. Fingers for pointing me in the right direction with this! And also a huge thanks to KiOgan who has wired this all up for me. He's been teasing me with the work in progress pics and it's on it's way to me now! (Note: John was as efficient as ever , but me wanting this type of capacitor held the process up.. I've some more of the hardware due to arrive in the next couple of weeks, so should be finished shortly.
18. Wow....that seems like good value and something that would be a great project!
19.
I had the behringer pedal tuner for a while, and didn't find it particularly responsive in live situations, especially when drop-D tuning was required. I then bought the Harley Benton TU-100 pedal tuner and I have to say I'm very happy with it. It's really cheap too, which helps!
20. Done! Thanks for the link, hadn't heard of this.
