The real question is, is this ... (1) a Squier JV re-logoed as a Fender as the seller seems to suggest (in which case at £430 with six days to go I feel it may sell for more than it's worth)... (2) or a correctly-logoed non-export Fender JV 62 RI... (3) or a first-series Squier with Fender-big, Squier-small lettering and the Squier decal only rubbed off (which happened quite often)?
My money is on option 1 above. Although as others have said, it will have additional holes that it shouldn't have. Also, I agree the bidding is very high already. For option 2: I don't think it's a correctly-logoed non-export version as the decal seems to have the patent codes (from what I can see from the poor quality photos) and reissue decals don't have these. For option 3: the first series Squier with the big Fender logo wouldn't have had the patent codes either, and it would say Made in Japan on the front. The wood grain is not as pronounced as the early series sen ash bodies, the tort pickguard looks like one from some later 1982 models I've seen online, and the tuners are the later version also. The first series have the most accurate vintage correct reverse tuners. If you can't already tell, I've recently bought a first series JV, so had done some homework at the time

It looks ok to my non-trained eye as a late 1982 JV. I could be way-off on this, but shouldn't "EX" be stamped on the heel of the neck or the neck pocket to signify export model? As he's going to take the neck off to post anyway, maybe you could get that checked out. I think you should also be looking out for cloth wiring with a green tone cap. www.21frets.com should be your first port of call for all things JV-related. You might even be able to cross reference the serial number there.

**Sale pending** Ampeg PF-500 now sold. PF-210 cab still available For sale is PF-210HE cab with cover in excellent condition. Would consider trades, and I'm particularly interested in trading for the 15" version of this, the PF-115HE, or one of the vintage style Ashdown cabs (VS of CL series I think) with the red covers, or a fretless bass (P or J style) Local pickup is preferred, but open to meeting up. Any questions, just ask. Details from Ampeg website: PF-210HE Drawing from the classic design of Ampeg's legendary Portaflex cabinets, the PF-210HE combines vintage styling with the performance of a modern 450W cab. The dual Eminence® 10˝ drivers push out true Ampeg tone. Since it's a Portaflex, you can attach any PF Series head to the top, flip it inside and hit the road Ampeg style. •Vintage Portaflex flip-top cabinet design - Black diamond tolex - Vintage B-15 grille cloth - Rugged 15mm poplar ply enclosure •450W RMS power handling @ 8 ohms •2 x 10˝ ceramic Eminence® LF drivers •1˝ HF compression driver w/L-Pad level control •Frequency response: 53 Hz - 17 kHz •Sensitivity: 99.6 dB SPL @ 1w/1m •Dimensions (H x W x D inches): - 23 x 21 x 14 in - 584 x 533 x 363 mm •Handling weight: 48 lbs / 21.6 kg

**Price change doesn't seem to be updating** Reduced to £80 including postage. I think this reflects good value for the price of the individual parts included. Seymour Duncan Antiquity P-Bass Pickups with raised 'A' poles Includes fully wired pickups, vintage correct 1950's repro capacitor, CTS pots and Switchcraft jack. The set is wired exactly as it would have been in 1957 and is ready to drop into a P Bass (one with open routing obviously!). I had these in a project '57 P Bass and they were great, with a really good range in the tone pot. From Seymour Duncan website: Summary Our Antiquity for P bass, but with taller A-string poles for a compensated string-to-string balance. Description Fender used this pole stagger for one year during the late 50s to compensate for the lack of output from the A-string. Like the originals, we use .625 rod magnets on the A-string for better overall balance. Otherwise, this pickup has the same look and sound as our standard Antiquity for P-Bass, and it is built using the same traditional techniques.Hand made in our Custom Shop, the Antiquity for P-Bass uses hand-fabricated forbon bobbins, plain enamel mag wire, hand ground sand-cast magnets, brass bottom plate, and waxed cloth pushback wire. Each is lacquered and potted in lamp black paraffin wax like the originals.

I recently sold a bridge cover to Chris. It was a smooth transaction and he was great to deal with. I'd highly recommend him to others.

**Now Sold through BC. Thanks** This neck came off a 50's roadworn P Bass. I've had it on a project bass for over 2 years. One piece maple neck with a 1.75" nut. A section of the nut did crack as I was stringing this with heavy gauge La Bella strings. I glued it at the time (over 2 years ago) and there's never been an issue since. Everyone raves about these necks, and they really are fantastic. An impulse buy of a 1982 JV Precision forces the sale of this and many other items of my bass gear. The photos below seem to be quite bright. For example, while the back of the neck is worn (as these are) there's nowhere near as vast a contrast between the different sections. The neck, mainly the headstock, has gained a few more dings over the last few years. There's nothing that affects playability though. I foolishly and rather shoddily removed the serial number on the back of the headstock as I had planned to add a strap button. I only later realised that strap buttons weren't actually period correct for a 1957 style bass!! Act in haste, repent at leisure! This really is a reluctant sale, so depending on what other items I sell, this may well be withdrawn to await the next project. I just hope the JV is worth it in the long run! Any questions, please ask.
