  1. As you can see from my avatar/image, I think these basses are great. Very lightweight and lots of different sounds. Best of luck with the sale - it looks lovely.
  2. Agree with Owen. Remember to buy the correct length of string for his bass. Ask him was scale length it is. regarding strap locks, see below:
  3. Hello to you and delighted that you've come on board. Never ever too late to start. Best. 👍
  4. Depends on the year. Sixties EB3s had a short headstock, whilst later seventies had long headstock. I'd measure the total length of the bass and drop Gibson an e-mail to see what they think. Good luck.
  5. Did you see the ... ... ok, will PM you, 'cause it looks good (and only one careful lady owner). 😂
  6. Don't worry Neeps, I'll let you know of any bargains around Turriff. 🤭
  7. Good evening. Welcome to you. I'm sure many here will be happy to give you a start on snap, tackle and pop technique. Stay chilled, or open a new topic under 'general discussion' thread, and you'll soon get a bite. Best of luck. (I neither slap, nor pop, so can't help you myself.)
  8. Always remove mine as it gets in the way - a lot!
  9. Certainly love mine!
  10. Coming to this very late. I never met your dad, but his books helped me in my journey. I still have my 'What Bass' on my bookshelf and still regularly refer to it. Please accept my condolences at this time.
  11. Hello, good evening and welcome - never a frosty reception here. Happy NY and welcome to you.
  12. Neeps, I have as much chance of completing this as a snawba' in Hell. If I stop buying basses, I couldn't live with the thought of all the retail staff I'd put on the Broo. To all masochists and saints out there - best of luck and 'no gain = pain'. 🤭
  13. Sorry to read this one Steve. Stress can be a pig when it takes over. I can't/won't attempt to talk you out of your decision as I don't know what the root cause is, but I would urge you not to sell up too quickly. Give yourself time to see if things change. Whatever you decide, I wish you all the best. Remember, you don't have to be a 'player' to be on BC.
  14. Yep, started as a beginner on flats and still have some of the herd strung with them. 👍
  15. @neepheid has called, asking me to let you all know that you are wasting your time sending him any message before 3rd January, as he is currently (and until said date, will remain), pis*ed. 😵‍💫
  16. Say to her, "Only if it's a seven string fretless with fan-fretless neck and she's taking lead vocals"
  17. Les Holroyd provided my first live hearing of an Alembic. Mind blown.
