  1. "Oooooooh Vicar, you don't see many of those this side of t' Pond!" This'll make someone's Christmas, I hope. GLWTS
  2. Bass played using a plectrum Most instruments made outside USA or UK Basses with stickers on them Off to my darkened room again.
  3. Shake, Rattle and (Hot Dog) Roll - Bill Hayley
  4. No idea that @Dad3353 sang bass in a Welsh choir. 😁
  5. Hi S'manth - see if you can find the contact details for this guy. As I recall, he spent most of his life searching for a new head. 🤭
  6. I have two fretless basses. One has roundwounds for that 'electric' fretless sound you mention. The other has tape-wound Labella strings for a fatter, more DB sound. I'd suggest you try using a chorus if using roundwounds (chorus AND octaver can sound great.) your ebony board will show signs of wear, but find yourself a good local luthier -Martin at the Bass Gallery - and they'll be able to advise what needs done, and when. Good luck in your adventure(s).
  7. Welcome, from a murderously bad bassist. 😎
  8. Evening Young Francis. I'm really on the beat here, answering your post almost three years late. Did you ever sort your dilemma out? If not, I can't recommend the Kala California basses enough: light, piezo and very short scale.
  9. Tremendous story. Exactly the kind of thing I was hoping for when I started this thread. The stories from people are inspiring. Thanks for your contribution
  10. You are always a more-than-positive person on BC. Long may your journey continue. My guess is that someone of your attitude in a band, would be a Godsend. Best. Snorkie.
  11. Not drowning, but squealing. Best to you and the Unicorns my man.
