Best purchase this year is a black Fender Vintage reissue P bass. Two 'problems' to watch out for in my view: the gloss on the neck is crap and the position markers are almost impossible to see under poor lighting - might not be a problem for others, but just putting it out there.

There's a copy of that very book, up for sale on the site right now - nothing to do with me btw. Info only.

Re OP question. I say yes, if you fancy one. You can always sell/trade it if it doesn't work out. I currently have three and love 'em all.
