  1. All the best Dave. I hope all works out for you, whatever you decide to do. They'll have a week of mourning in Biggar.
  2. I just snapped yet another of those flimsy 9volt battery connectors on a bass. Over the years, I've tried all ways of disconnecting and still the damned things break. I know that basses like Musicman don't use the usual flimsy connectors, but surely there must be a better way that this common method. Arrrrrrggggghhhhh! And, breathe ...
  3. That is one fine instrument. GLWTS
  4. Any American Fender will be worth £10,000 and Wals will be worth £1,200. 😉
  5. If only I'd spent more attention to my Esperanto teacher.
  6. Never met Nick but so sad to hear of another good person passing.
  7. Overwater are my favourite basses. I'd say they are generally up there with the best in the world. I'm sure both of yours will be excellent. Enjoy.
  8. Good grief Brian! Stop it! Stop it! Stop it! (Pretty please)
  9. About fifteen years ago, I bought a second-hand Reunion leather gig-bag from a mate of mine. The bag was in excellent condition, but had obviously been used/stored in numerous smokey pubs, etc. Two days opened up and left outside in sunshine and a light spring breeze, did the trick as if by magic. Try a couple of decent days towards the end of February if we get them. You'll be amazed. Good luck and don't bin that bag. 🤥
  10. Never thought of that before - the Gather, the Fun and the Goalie Post.
  11. These instruments are superb, with a killer B on them. Classy, rich-toned and fits into any genre. Come on folks, bring your New Year in with style. (No affiliation to Acebass)
  12. Here's my 'triplets'
  13. Hi there. Welcome to you.
  14. Hello Peter. Just to let you know, it seems the link to Dan's review no longer works. Best Snorkie
  15. @Mike Brooks Got a hold of one and it just fits. As you say, very snug indeed, but should do the job for what I do and where I go. Thanks again.
  16. Hate is perhaps too strong a word, but I bought a Wal back in the early 80s which I thought was awful (Pro 2E). Got rid of it within a month and then, based on recommendations, bought another Wal, this time a Mk1. This was slightly better, but also had to go. Why didn't I like them? So many reasons, but mostly, I found them very finicky to use live and could never get a decent amount of 'bass' from either model. Traded last one to Overwater, and bass and sound were immediately sorted.
  17. Soz @Skybone, just had to:
  18. Thanks Mike. Will try one out asap. Nice bass as well. 👍
