  1. Well put - "clattery bronze ones". Going to have a go with LaBella whites now.
  2. Sorry, maybe 'niiiiiice', should only be used in context of a JAZZ bass. 🫣
  3. Exactly. I think it's great. People pay Fender extra to 'distress' CS basses. With this one, it comes with a playing history. GLWTS.
  4. Really enjoying this thread. Wanted to add that sometimes I turn up for a gig with an 'expensive' bass and then discover that the 'house' bass gear is so appalling, I could play any type of bass and still sound as crap as the next guy (or gal). Also, don't forget to consider what the others in the band are playing. Two guitars worth £150 and two cheap guitar amps and a knackered drum-kit, will usually sound as you might expect. Your Foderabacker Gibder Dingbat ten string bass is unlikely to make a huge difference. Discuss (50 words, to be handed in by tomorrow morning). 🤗
  5. Your original post says it has had a hard life, but the photos show it's a gigged and highly desirable bass. I'd say the pricing is about right for a fine, handmade bass. Fingers crossed. Snork
  6. Never tried or even seen one. Probably, they'll do the job for someone though. My first bass cost £50 brand new and was pretty bad, but I loved it, as no doubt, someone will one of these. More people getting a 'start' on bass has to be a good thing, whether they begin on a diddly-bo or an Alembic. My understanding is that HB basses work well enough.
  7. Very, very, very, very, very, very, very, very ... ... ... nice.
  8. Used to be in a band called Buckingham Phallus. Was a bit of a let-down. i also remember a band called Matt Vinyl and the Decorators. - always likes that one. 😉
  9. Sorry for the drip-effect of information. Funny how you forget over time.
  10. Sad story, but a piece of Overwater history there. Best of luck with the sale.
  11. Yes, it appears so. It had Lace Sensors as well. Cheers.
  12. Just remembered that it also had a 3-position control on it as well, but can't for the life of me, remember what it actually did. Also came in a tweed case. Sorry to be so vague, it was a while ago, but I still miss it (a lot). Last spotted in Guitar Guitar up in Edinburgh, I believe.
  13. Well done you. You tried your best to help - very commendable.
  14. More than welcome. Hope it all works out for you.
  15. There you go. Hope this helps you out.
  16. That looks really nice. I love 'natural' finish basses. Look after it and thanks for sharing.
  17. Will get onto it for you.
  18. It is indeed, but it'd rather mingin' and the rest of the bass is pristine. I want to tidy it up a bit.
  19. Yep, my headstock tuners are all the same
