1. Thanks for responding Rtotheroscoe. Best wishes for a successful sale. It looks good enough to serve with strawberries and cream. (Yes, I am in therapy!)😜
2. Overwater now have their own owners'/potential owners' forum. Anyone interested should ask the guys on there for an opinion/advice 🤔 .
3. Me again!😊 I've had four Wals in my time and Overwater in my view beat them hands down. That's why I now have no Wals!
4. Yep, seems about right. I traded it back to Chris for another Overwater. A fine bass, if a heavy beastie!
5. Just scrolling around and saw this photo of the seven stringer. Seems a 'debate' as to whose it is 🙂 but I can say, without any doubt, it was mine first: built to my specs, I chose the woods, etc. delighted to see that it is still being enjoyed and played Snorkie 635
6. Having looked across my living room and checked with this thread, I now know what these things with strings and twirly-bits at the end of their necks are! All I know is that there used to be not nearly enough and four more additions means absolutely no change in status. I need a doctor, or a vet to put me out of your misery.
7. Any problems of this nature and I thoroughly recommend Chris McIntyre of McIntyre guitars in edinburgh. He fixes things and makes them work!
8. Did it originally have a white scratchplate at all?
9. Lovely piece of kit - I'll trade the wife and her mother for it.
10. Thanks for the advice guys - it's being checked out as I write this.
11. thanks for the information Molan. I'll give them a call if necessary. S635
12.
Definitely shouldn't be doing that. Did you buy from a UK dealer? They should either offer a repair or refer to their official tech in the UK - he's an absolute gem of a technician!
I did buy it from a UK dealer - who's the tech?
13.
never had this with my db750 could it be to do with a bad earth supply to the head? def shouldnt hiss tho mate. andy
I'll see if that's likely - thanks for the heads up
14. Recent purchase of DB 751 has led to great joy - but - it hisses (white noise) if either preamp gain or master volume are set over 10.00 o'clock. This happens without any bass plugged in. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this kind of thing - I've tried replacing the valves in the preamp with no joy (and the tweeter in my cab is off. Hmm?
15. Have you considered trying an EUB? It's fretless and can by bowed, plucked, slapped or whatever - you'd be the Nigel Kennedy of the bass and achieve post-punk-proto-precision-popping-plectumising-pop-progressive- passionate - perfection. OK, I'm back off to my softroom now for a little lie down. Do it my friend - you only live once.
16. Loving all the fellow nutters on this thread! Had a Shergold double neck, and an Avon EB0, a Roscoe Beck 5, a Gibson Ripper, an EB2, EB3, and a Kramer 8 string - all have sdaly gone on to better things, leaving me with a common or garden Fender. Snorkie
