1. Eric Clapton and George Harrison liked Badge(s) and Jack Bruce sure gave it a good bassline.😉
2. An Avon (Rose Morris) EB0 copy in a sort of dark wine red colour. Played and sounded ok until the tension of the flatwounds, literally pulled the whole bridge out of the body. Fixed it and last heard it was in Canada of all places. Here's proof it existed from 1975
3. Thanks for responding Rtotheroscoe. Best wishes for a successful sale. It looks good enough to serve with strawberries and cream. (Yes, I am in therapy!)😜
4. I think you'll find it's a walnut body - not mahogany. 😉
5. Overwater now have their own owners'/potential owners' forum. Anyone interested should ask the guys on there for an opinion/advice 🤔 .
6. Me again!😊 I've had four Wals in my time and Overwater in my view beat them hands down. That's why I now have no Wals!
7. Yep, seems about right. I traded it back to Chris for another Overwater. A fine bass, if a heavy beastie!
8. Just scrolling around and saw this photo of the seven stringer. Seems a 'debate' as to whose it is 🙂 but I can say, without any doubt, it was mine first: built to my specs, I chose the woods, etc. delighted to see that it is still being enjoyed and played Snorkie 635
9. Having looked across my living room and checked with this thread, I now know what these things with strings and twirly-bits at the end of their necks are! All I know is that there used to be not nearly enough and four more additions means absolutely no change in status. I need a doctor, or a vet to put me out of your misery.
10. Any problems of this nature and I thoroughly recommend Chris McIntyre of McIntyre guitars in edinburgh. He fixes things and makes them work!
11. Thanks for the replies both.
12. Did it originally have a white scratchplate at all?
13. Beautiful bass - still up for sale? Snorkie
14. Lovely piece of kit - I'll trade the wife and her mother for it.
15. Thanks for the advice guys - it's being checked out as I write this.
16. Everything's there - it was bought new.
17. thanks for the information Molan. I'll give them a call if necessary. S635
18.
Definitely shouldn't be doing that. Did you buy from a UK dealer? They should either offer a repair or refer to their official tech in the UK - he's an absolute gem of a technician!
I did buy it from a UK dealer - who's the tech?
19.
never had this with my db750 could it be to do with a bad earth supply to the head? def shouldnt hiss tho mate. andy
I'll see if that's likely - thanks for the heads up
20. Recent purchase of DB 751 has led to great joy - but - it hisses (white noise) if either preamp gain or master volume are set over 10.00 o'clock. This happens without any bass plugged in. Just wondered if anyone else had experienced this kind of thing - I've tried replacing the valves in the preamp with no joy (and the tweeter in my cab is off. Hmm?
