1. Many thanks for all the info. Does the H2 also allow 4 track usage as well? (sorry, I havent looked it up on line yet) Matt
2. Am curious to see who uses which of these two machines, and how intuitive they are to work as I have only researched them online so far. What I hope to do is to record my bass lessons and then edit the general chat out and keep the essential part of the lessons. Has anyone tried this with either of these units? How easy is it to then store the MP3 files for future reference etc? Im thinking about this as I travel a fair amount for my work, and I have a hard time remembering some of the things that have been said during my lesson. Would welcome some input as i know nada about this sort of gear. Cheers Matt
3.
First Act?
Indeed it was! I have no intention of spending valuable bass purchasing power on a guitar! It'll do! head still foggy, but it might be the weather. Am driving to Fort William today as well. Hmmmmmmmm
4. ouch...headache!
5. ummm........
6. Not really on topic at all, but i just dont care. Reverb sold me an electric guitar for £40! I cant play, and i really cant be arsed to learn how to play it, but i can put chords on my looper, to allow me to do improv on my bass.! Woo hoo! Seeing as i dont play with a band, I am now one in my own right. I promise you, it aint gonna be big at all! hahahahahahaha The wine helps M
7. Eh? how hard can it be to count 1-2-3-4 in a consistent and rhythmic way? (Drummers excluded..and I know this 'cos my brother is one). I learnt how to do it at music school.
8.
This thread cracked me up! Ask for advice and throw your toys out the pram when you don't get it quick enough! Am I better off overpaying on my mortgage given we're on a tracker, or should I put the extra money available due to a low interest rate into an ISA? Quick. The Meter's running you bastards!
I think you should buy coke, after all, the price is bound to go up in a reccession.
9.
I don't get the whole fixation on the beginners aspect of bass playing. The beginners market is small compared to the established players out there. Yes, it's important to keep things interesting for new players... but not to the point where you end up with, to the majority of the audience, a bit of a dull magazine. It's like targeting cars at 17 year old new drivers... when in fact the market to maximise the sales (and secure the ongoing business) focus should be on everybody but the 17 year old driver. If a car magazine was targetted at beginner drivers, I would hazard a guess that it wouldn't be sticking around for very long.
I wasnt asking for A BEGINNERS HAND BOOK, just some good ideas.
10. If every issue of BGM was as good as the 'punk' issue last year, it would be a diffferent story. Im not so sure that just having basses that are not everyday instruments other wise us new players wouldnt get any info at all. Still, i guess good editing would keep an even spread. The mag should really try and be much better, or someone will come along and start a new mag that will bury BGM. Hmmm Matt
11. Blimey, you cant stop with the pics now.....more please! Great looking bass. Matt
12. offspring, why dont you get a job Stranglers- hanging around Cool!
13. There is a full reset available in teh menu, but you will lose everything on the memory. You could try that. I have one and i did have some problems with the on/button, but Tascam resolved it for me. other wise delete the tracks and start again. I am assuming that youve got the correct bit rate for the down load? Cheers Matt
14. good times - Chic
15. Im very interested in this, but its a long way away. Bugger! Matt
16.
Yeah I am excited, never been before. I am going on the Terrier day because I have an unhealthy fascination with Staffordshire Bull Terriers, so can't wait to meet them all! I will take lots of pics! P.s is it bad form to scan in the vigier review and email to someone?
I think that it would be sensible to keep that one as a pm!
17. +1 here as well. i liked the JJ write up as i didnt really know anything about him. Also, I am trying to follow the Guy Pratt tutorials. I still think the pink punk issue was one of the best as it seemd to absolutley everything in it and something for everyone. Its difficult for me as i want newbie style features which would of course completely bore the more advanced players, but issues which deal with high end specialist stuff gets only passing interest from me. On the whole, tho i enjoy some, or more than some, and sometimes everything thats there, so ill continue to buy it. I think ill email the ed a list of newbie topics that i havent seen so far! matt
18.
+1
+1 here . time and place for both i think, even with my limited knowledge! matt
19.
I don't like graphic eqs either. Can never get those right. All those bloody sliders. It's like those clowns who say to the sound man at a sh*tty music pub in South London "can you boost me at 37Hz?". All you need is 2 knobs.
A guitarist and a drummer?
20.
How about a Funk Logic Palindrometer?
Brilliant!
21.
Smooth - By Santana. I recently bought the sheet music for the bass line because it was taking me ages and ages to work it out by ear from the CD. My objective for this year is to learn it off by heart. It would be a bonus to understand why it works (e.g. relate the notes back to the chords and see what's going on) but I'm prepared to settle for simply being able to play it.
Great tune! cant play it tho!
