I've A/B'd it against a fender USA with Badass and couldn't hear any difference. The bridge is plenty sturdy enough for me. As for neck dive - really??? Maybe its how I hold my bass, but I've never experienced it with any fender bass.

Far to keen to keep the manufacturers sweet. It really does them a disservice. I've played the new American Standard, and for me, it represents a step backwards. I own the old US standard and wouldn't swap.

Nik, Cheers for the heads up. I will try get over there saturday and check it out. Seems a strange thing to stock given their usual lack of bass stuff. If I'm feeling flush I may take a punt on it.

My missus hates me playing bass. F*cking hates it. Each night, the only time I get to practice is when she goes to brush her teeth before bed. Hence I'm a terrible bass player. She bought me my first bass, but is totally unsupportive. Not just in bass, but in eveything I ever do. Lucky me.

Its the neck profile that concerns me, and I know exactly what you mean by narrow yet bulky (Hofner-esque). Where did you play it?

Ref: the original clip. I managed to sit through it twice. Although I can't say I enjoyed or liked it, its much better than most. I can see the guys talent and I can [i]almost[/i] tap my foot to some of it. And that for me is a giant leap. I'm off to drown myself in a shallow bath.

Can't believe I haven't posted here yet! Bought a Peavey Firebass off him a while back. A good guy to deal with and a nice fella. He was also very understanding about my late arrival due to my car breaking down on the way.
