Talk to a waterboardee for their opinion on that.
I think that's more the fear element. A cat slung in a bag with a load of bricks probably doesn't comprehend the fate that awaits it. Its just dark and wet. Almost like returning to the womb.
What are you implying? I find that sort of thing disturbing, since I hate cruelty of any sort, and have numerous cats. Get a few dreams about torturing animals do you? There's a thread about that on BC somewhere. may I direct you to that?
I always thought drowning cats was one of the least cruel ways to get rid of them? Drowning is supposedly surprisingly painless. I just take mine up the garden and hit them round the head with a spade.
Ever played one?
Yeah. Was rubbish.

So does this mean I can publish the photo of CK's erect penis that he sent me?

To be honest, I was hoping for a big improvement and was left dissapointed. Regardless of the typos and technical errors, I just find the writing incredibly boring! The guitar mags are a league above in terms of interesting content and writing style. I don't agree with all this talk of improvement not happening over night. To my mind, the mag doesn't need tweaking - it needs a massive overhaul. Still buy it though, so why should they care?

Can with give this clause a name like they do in the media? It'd be very exciting! We can print banners and everything! I've never been on a protest before.
Not very democratic though, is it?
But I can see WoT's point. This forum is owned by people, and is therefore run under their rules. It would be nice if it was run a democracy (although I question how workable it is), but it is ultimaately the site owners decision. I'm not commenting on if its right or wrong - it just "is". I think if the Mods do push for keeping the clause we're not happy about without explanantion on justification, its a pretty bad PR job.

Agreed. It all looks pretty sensible apart from the aforementioned.
The only PM I've had from a Mod was thanking me for my level headed contribution to an otherwise quite slangy debate. So do I get an anti warning strike?
I had a Mod PM to tell me that my "brand" of humour was "immature, purile, and insulting" - the holy trinity of humour as far as I'm concerned. Do I win a prize?
I don't agree with that part at all. What if someone is treated unfairly by a mod and wishes to clear it up with the assistance of the rest of the forum?
My issue is that if the Mods treat people fairly, then there should be no need for secrecy behind their actions. The second you gag people, it looks like your trying to cover up your own wrong-doings.

I'm loving tort with white these days.

I'm waiting for the Graham Rix signature bass. No doubt it will be marketed to a younger demographic.

I've only scanned through this thread, but am I right in understanding that Bilbo played a jazz gig for a load of hot student chicks naked? Ding Dong! I bet he really did have to "hold down the low-end"! No, seriously folks, you've been a great crowd etc etc......
That you will!! Double barrel insults might provoke a double strike, depending on the severity! I might give you a strike back if you put some bleedin' clothes on!
Ped, you love a bit of male nudity. I've seen those "photography" magazines you subscribe to.
Nope, it is a 5 strikes policy. You will know when you have used up a strike, believe me. But we won't be having to use it much I hope! The main thing was for me and Kiwi to get the rules set up for the new mods and revamp the T&Cs which came with the software and aren't tailored to fit our needs as much as we would like. As ever, if you have a problem, report the post to a moderator (not me or kiwi preferably because it short circuits the system) and it will be discussed and sorted - if a warning is to be given it will be made obvious to the individual being warned and simply contain the nature of the rule broken. We used to have a more relaxed and oranic system where we could discuss at length various points and come to some sort of agreement, but with the size of the forum now it is becoming a grey area which soon will be a really clear and concise system. But hey - as long as we can all chill and enjoy ourselves, the main thing we want to do it free up some time to introduce some new features, offers, competitions, products and events for everyone to enjoy. ped
Cool. Makes sense. I will have to use my 4 uber-insults carefully!
PM sent to you BBC !
Do you mean you've just sent me a PM, or it takes 10 PMs to get banned? According to Johngh, I was up to 80% a while back, and have since had 2 more PMs from Mods. Does this mean I should now be banned? I'm not trying to stir it up, just trying to assess what the current state of play is and what the new rules actually mean in practice.

Nice to see a few different designs from custom builds on BassChat recently. The Man from Del Monte - He say Yes!
-
Just to clarify, when you say number of warnings reducing to 5 from 10, what counts as a warning? It is 10 complaints received about a post/member, or 10 pms sent to a disruptive member? Also, are we able to check how many warnings we're on? I've been banned before but was not aware of the 10 warning threshold.
-
Oddly enough, I watched this. Got all excited telling my missus how someone from BassChat was playing. Even kept pointing you out saying "there he is! there he is!". She just looked at me like I was nuts. Not my scene, but the bass sounded excellent, so well done there. I would have been put off by all those people pulling cum-faces and holding out their arms.
Of course, you are right. But when these idiots are starting to pm you ( I have had to use the blocking facility)
By "idiots" you mean well respected forum members* who would rather clear the air in private via a friendly PM? *Not me I hasten to add!
Dear Clever Dick. I assume you might be relating to me. If you read the post after yours, you might find that the information I have provided has been of help. I have reported you and a list your cronies to the mods - I sincerely hope you all get banned for puerile personal attacks for cheap laughs that have nothing to do with the topic in hand. I assure you, I have not had my ego punctured - it would take a lot more than comments like yours, or the other half baked imbeciles in here that seem hell bent on doing nothing else but trolling and baiting, to make any difference to me. But I still read your posts because they give me an overwhelming sense of gratitude that I am a notch or two higher in the chain of humanity than the culprits I am referring to. I am sure you might be aware that I am not the only one fed up with your antics.............further reminder - the topic is MOST ACCURATE TUNER.
rslaing my man! I take it I am one of these "half baked imbeciles" you have reported to the mods? The fact that the mods have refrained from reprimanding me would indicate how valid they view your complaint! The fact that you have dished out more insults on this thread than everyone else combined, yet still claim to be the victim of "personal attacks" leaves me scratching my head. You seem a reasonably bright lad, can you not see that although your technical knowledge is useful and interesting, you seem to have the communication skills of the Unabomber? People disagree with you. Doesn't mean they're insulting you! As for your constant claim of being "ON TOPIC", I think the beauty of a web forum is that what starts off as a very niche thread, blossoms into a broader debate based on the OP. For example "what is the most accurate tuner?" - well we can all use google and cut and paste (a skill your SO keen to show off), to narrow it down to 2 tuners within the first post. Should we then close the thread? We've got the answer, shall we just move on? The point is, threads develop. I don't think I'm the only one who questions the need for such accuracy. As highlighted above, its also intersting to find out how others tune their instrument and their perceived need for accuracy. Personally, I have no issue with your posts. You clearly have some of the answers. You don't have all of them. So, try and relax, calm down, stop insulting people and you'll enjoy yourself much more.
I got a couple of emails from "supporters" asking me not to concede to the dickheads on here. Which I thought was good advice.
Firstly, please stay on topic. Secondly, I don't believe you! I like you rslaing, but I'm starting to question your mental well-being. You have a habit of stating your opinions as fact and then accusing those who disagree with you of making "personal attacks". Ironically, whilst doing this, you like to make personal attacks of your own on others, calling them "nasty" and tone deaf. You also like to contradict yourself, accuse others of going "off-topic" when they don't agree with you, and flounce off only to come crawling back. This is the internet, no one ever agrees with each other. If it wasn't for disagreements we wouldn't have web forums. Now I don't know you in "real" life, maybe you surround yourself with people who agree with your oracle-like knowledge about tuning a guitar. I'm sorry that this doesn't extend to BassChat. As for all the typing in bold, please try and calm down and promise me not to climb a bell tower with a high powered rifle. I'll promise to buy an over-priced tuner if you promise not to do a Hungerford.
Another "on topic" comment...........
What happened to "f*** this for a lark"? You love it!
