Apologies to Nibody for stealing his original thread( I will provide new pics if required) Still in the same condition. It doesn't have the detuner on I should add. Selling two other basses on here so whichever sells first I may keep the other two! Collection best as it's a set neck, willing to meet within a 20 mile radius of Leicester also. It comes with a good padded bag. Thanks.
2. still available, can post if required.
3. to the top
4. Plenty of interest but still here 'bump'!!
5. I had a wide suede strap for mine, the suede grips your t shirt/jumper/whathaveyou and stopped neck dive for me anyway.
6. Seen a bass I'd like but in Brighton and I'm in leicester. The seller doesn't want to post(fair enough) so thought I'd post on here to see if the bass could make its way to me via the powers of basschat!! I would slip someone some fuel vouchers if they could help. Thanks.
7. NIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIIICE! I may visit again if my two sell on here! lovely bass!

9. £220 collected
10. Thanks all for the comments, I'm probably getting too OCD about some of the songs as I'm new to this lark! Being a drummer I know when to take out bits that don't work as they do on the original and when to leave them in so I guess I need to apply that mindset to bass! Cheers
11.
Don't get obsessed with playing exactly the original bassline. In many cases it will be entirely appropriate to play a precise note-for-note reproduction, but there will also be plenty of cases where it does NOT make sense. I don't try to replicate the original bassline to Don't Be Cruel (Elvis Presley) because my band has no piano. The bassline I play is a synthesis of Bill Black's double bass and the pianist's left hand. The bassline to Play That Funky Music (Wild Cherry) is anything but funky, in fact it's crap. So I play a funky bassline which actually works better than the original (in my ever-so-humble opinion ) but I play the original bassline under the guitar solo just to show that I do actually know it. Etc. etc. etc.
Thanks for that, I agree with you on that as some songs where I've learnt the original basslines they sound crap because one of the band isn't playing the original part.
12.
Tru dat - but if the purpose of your covers band is to entertain punters who already know the songs, then they will know them from the 'original' recordings and will be expecting to hear those versions. When I see covers bands who deviate from the 'originals' I just think that they haven't put the work in and am generally disappointed. I know some bands like to imagine they are being 'creative' by doing their own 'versions' - but my view is that if you want to do that then why not write your own bloody songs and have hits with them yourself?? I admit I'm a bit of a control freak, though - I'm invading Poland on Saturday, anyone want to come along?
EXACTLY!! Some covers bands just do watered down pi$$ poor versions and it boils down to idleness and thinking that 'near enough is good enough!'
13. I'm in a covers band on bass after being on drums for over 20 years and trying to find a happy medium for learning our set. What method do you use? I tend to listen to the song and try and find the exact bassline from youtube or tinterweb but usually find people's bad interpretations that are nothing like the original. Some of my friends just get the chords and play a watered down version of the song. Your thoughts and experience would be gratefully received. Thanks
14. bump
15. Swapped a p bass for a tbird with Dave. Top bloke with some lovely basses AND he loves Thin Lizzy so bonus points from me!
16. It's a great bass and plays fantastic.

19. alright then!! who's got some Christmas money burning a hole? it's time for this to go to a new home!
20. Bought a Shure mic from Chris. Well packaged, great comms, he even went the extra miles to expose the hermes bull$hi77ers who claimed they'd delivered it when they clearly hadn't! Deal with confidence. Cheers
