I love the bit where it says, "Choice of 34", 32" or 30" Scale Length (No extra charge)" I don't know whether to ask him for a 48" scale or a 10" scale - either shouldn't be too hard
I'd like to see the place where you can get strings made for the 48" Zach
2. Don't worry, just send it over here, I'll hold on to it till the dust clears for you Zach
3. I'd buy if they are brighter then stainless steel. Depends how much they cost as well though. Zach
4.
Yeah last time we had name tags, seemed a good idea, something we'll be doing again
I don't need a name tag, I've got an electric pink rugby shirt with my nickname for that tour (and conveniently, my username) Reckon I should wear it? It's a bit tight now though... Zach
5. Someone get this woman a video camera! Quickly! Zach
6. I reckon you should buy a chunk of perspex in whatever color you want and stick that in the hole. Seen it done before, and if you choose the right color, can look great. Zach
7.
You Suffer - Napalm Death.
Ooh, complex
Cochise by Audioslave......well i think that's what it's called as I had never heard it before but it's an excellent song to learn and play !!
That's the one. My bass teacher taught it to me a while ago, great song. Zach
8. I'm chipping in with my laughable collection, for the hell of it. 1. Encore p bass. Bought it from Argos because it was the cheapest we could find, and I wouldn't wait for one to be delivered lol. Cost £150 as a starter pack with the amp etc. Still got it, simply because no-one will buy it off me. Its for sale if your interested BTW lol. (2006-08) 2. Fender MIM Jazz. Got it second hand off my school music teacher for £250 including a hard case. Recorded a second demo with my band (my first, because the bands first was before I had joined), played my first gig with it. I've broken the nut on it so that was replaced with a graphite one from Allparts sharpish, Probably spent over £100 on strings for it, seeing as i went from Rotosounds to Flats to see what they were like, then back to Rotosounds for another 3/4 packs of strings. Thinking about doing a complete refinish next summer, Matte black anyone? Zach
9.
same problem here
Yes, we can see the problem right there. Those monsters must be a constant source of annoyance. Must get you a lot of male attention though. Zach
10. 2, my Fender MIM Jazz, and the Encore P bass knockoff I started on. Zach
11.
mine hides my gut.
They make basses big enough for that? Zach
12. Whats the price on this? My band will be soundproofing the garage soon, and having a PA for practices and gigs would be great. Zach
13. Low as the strap goes for me, mainly because I'm really tall compared to most and the full length is the CYN area for me, but with my new strap (Pink checkered, matches the rhythm guitarists) its a lot higher, around my waist, which is high compared to my other strap. Zach
14.
lol well we'l see what happens next gig wich is tomoz at the colliers rest in leigh so come down if you live close by :D:D:D
I would if I could, but I don't even know where tyldesly is, so I doubt I could make it. Good look though. Zach
15.
don't quote me, but i would image if they are blade magnets as you said, there will be no problem
That's what I'm thinking. I wouldn't use 6 string pickups with pole pieces because of the different string spacings, but otherwise it should be OK. Zach
16. I'm thinking that its the sound guy dicking about with the mix. When I play at practice, I go from fairly loud anyway with finger style or pick to earth shaking bang when I slap. Have a quiet word with him, down an alley, to make sure he fully understands that the bass is going to be heard, whether he likes it or not. Zach
17.
We turned up at a pub gig to find a blazing log fire at the back of the small space we had to play in, right behind the drummer. The landlord couldn't understand why it was a problem. Much as I like the idea of doing something for charity, those gigs always turn out to be a nightmare. We played one recently in the corner of a cafe in the Royal Showground at Stoneleigh, with an irritable barman yelling at us to turn down. Which we didn't, as he'd also harassed the previous act who wasn't at all loud. At the end, two quite elderly ladies came up and said how pleased they were that we'd ignored "that rude man".
Thats never been a problem for my band, because the first gig I did with them was for cancer research, and it was really good. Full PA system, band area, amps and everything supplied, drinks, food, all that, lots of people and everyone has a good time. That said, the organizers had already asked every band about what would be needed there, so i suppose that helped a bit. Zach
18. Had a go at Bloodmeat by Protest The Hero. It hurt Zach
19.
My band is really good at sheet music.
Whats a 'Music'? Zach
20. Cancer Bats Hail Destroyer and Protest The Hero's Kezia and Fortress. Arif is absolutely mental on bass. Have a look at Sequoia Throne if you want a real challenge. Zach
21. Andy, I'm thinking maybe you should put all the cabs into one mahoosive rig for ultimate bass power at gigs. Go on, you know you want to try it Zach
22. Crimson Guitars are made by hand in England. He can even do you a perspex bodied one if that's what you like. Zach
23. TuneMyBass is what I would recommend, very easy to follow and it includes pictures as well. Make sure you have all the stuff you need as well, IE string cutters, that kinda stuff, just makes it easier. Zach EDIT for poor spelling.
24. I'm thinking about trying out the Dean Markely Blue Steels soon, but I can't find a set in Derby. Anybody used them before? Zach
25.
Sounds like a case of good double bass pedal technique to me
That's what I'm thinking... Zach
