1. Is this still for sale? Zach
  2. What will you trade this bass for? Zach
  3.
I have a Brice HXB406 and it's great. The frets could do with filing down a bit at the edges, but they're not "slice a finger off" sharp, they just poke you gently. Looks awesome too. Cost me £215 to my door a while back. Never really been used either (bought as a backup bass and my Ibanez is so reliable), it's probably going to get sold soon to fund something else.
That's a Brice?! When I saw a photo of it I thought 'wow, that's a nice looking bass, must have cost a fair chunk'. Zach
  4. I really like distortion on bass, in the right situation. I wouldn't use it in my current band, it'd sound like cr@p, but in a metal band it'd sound good, to me. It's all subjective really. Zach
  5.
Cheers! i think anyways ha. Anyone liking this enough to purrrchase?
I'd love to buy this bass, but I don't have anywhere near as much cash as I'd need lol. I see you're playing at The Vic in Derby soon, think I'll have to go to that one. Zach
  6. I think I saw you guys at Download 09. If it was you, brilliant set, but I struggle to remember it Zach
  7.
Stunning !!
Nice.... Zach
  8. Bit of a thread hijacking, but does anyone know anywhere that stocks an Ibanez SR 706? Really want one, but I can only find the SR506. Zach
  9. Sigh, 1994 anyone? At least it'd be less then £1000, i hope... Zach

Yeah, PA cabs, if anything, are probably better for bass. Think about it, they're designed to handle not only bass, but kick drum, vocals, etc. so they must be pretty good for bass handling and moving air. If I could, I'd set myself up with a huge PA rig, because it'd be much better then most conventional bass cabs. Zach
  11.
Well folks, The plan was to stick strictly to under a grand for my first bass, but when I picked up this beauty I just knew I had to have it. Yes, I know, it's a bit extravagant for my first four string, but I've been spoiled by a succession of high quality six strings over the last couple of decades and know quality when I see/feel it. Thanks to Rich for a smooth transaction. She's in good hands, mate - and will be for many years to come. Right, better get practising! PS Thanks to all for your guidance For now Tim
Ooooh, Sadowsky... Zach
  12. BBB, you could probably rig up some sort of riser for the actual board, just a few inches of wood, oak or something like that. This way, you could also choose the angle to have it facing upwards at. Zach
  13. Right, I got the Korg AX3000B earlier today, so I'll hopefully have had a proper good play around with it in the next couple of days, but I do have a lot of schoolwork to be doing, so time is somewhat tight. Assuming that the effects are in the order they're listed on the pedal (left to right) then it should be alright, as I'll probably be using it Octave>Fuzz>Filtron/Classic Flanger>Studio Reverb. Should sound the dogs danglies, I hope. Zach
  14.
new Black Sun Empire podcast here.. get subscribed.. http://www.blacksunempire.com/podcast/BSE_Podcast_010.mp3
Niceee, I'm liking that. Hopefully have my Korg AX3000B soon, and actually start to do some proper stuff lol. Zach
  15.
I think the guy from Behemoth plays a ESP Forest type thing, something like this: http://www.dv247.com/guitars/esp-guitars-f...ar-black--47099
I'm pretty sure that it's a Tom Araya signature that he plays, high end one I'd assume. Zach
  16.
I have a bright yellow Aria Pro II Its disgusting.
Can I have it? Zach
  17. Listening to Black Sun Empire in the middle of my I.T. lesson. Teacher keeps telling me to turn it down. Zach
  18.
lol, dude, you've not seen mine! my cabs alone weigh about 30kgs each. And i recognise that Randall
You sure about that, as I recall I stole it from some blokes house in Nottingham
teehee! nice one zach ! looks like a versatile set up.. pity ya can't drive it anywhere yet... p.s. i get the girls to carry it for me too..
Haha, yeah, it's only for my bands, not really for the DnB trio, where I run straight into the PA instead. It's 4kw, so it makes more sense Zach
  19. Yeah, the reason they charge so much is because of materials and labour. It takes a long time and a lot of material to make inlays like those, so you can't really expect it to come cheap. Zach
  20.
here's my lightweight. 750w @ 8 ohms, < 25 kgs. yeh baby !
Pffft, lightweights for girls and people who care about their spine Check out mine. Zach
  21.
my man can play to a click, i think that's the way forward (for our d'n'b stuff at least) then we can utilise sequenced midi parts/samples etc.. drums have to be the foundation , and complicated fills can throw timing off easily, so if you have access to a small p.a. or monitor, try it out. do broach the subject delicately though ; no drummer likes to be told that they have sloppy timing, but it will help them tighten up their technique ! some drummers might complain that it makes things sound too clinical, but a lot can be put back with the right 'feel'.
Yeah, we're going to try that I think, see how well he does then. Next up, we have to figure out what we are gonna have when we play out. This in itself is a challenge, because it's going to mainly be house parties, so we will have to have as small a footprint as possible, but still manage to fit everything in. Set ups will be fun Zach
  22.
I am in Glasgow on Wednesday. Check your pms! G
You sure I don't think he has PMS. Zach
  23. Yeah, with it being so new, I wouldn't hold out much hope for drivers soon. Eventually they'll turn up, but no time soon mate. Zach
  24. Haha, yeah, I haven't seen how well my drummer can handle really up tempo DnB stuff yet, soon though, we will see if he can cut it, if not then I have another who probably could. TBH, the drummer is the weakest link in the chain for live DnB, if he can't cut it, or loses time, then the rest of you have had it. Zach
  25.
cheers zach , good man !
No problem mate, just took a quick search on Talkbass. How's your band going? Zach
