It's a maybe - I may need something physically a bit smaller. You'll be the first to know
I've, um, splurged on something a little more 'yellow'. Hopefully that is my hunt for ultimate tone and lightness solved ...... if that's possible?!

And I think it's time to reclaim the term 'indie'. NME can't have it any more, they promote money-making mainstream pop rock and fashion styles to teenagers. The indie scene in its truest sense is stronger than ever, sites like Myspace, Garageband, Purevolume, Soundclick etc have made it possible for anyone to get their music out there - and a lot of it is very good. 'Indie' in the sense of wearing girls jeans, wearing your guitar around your neck and playing a spiky four-note riff for two minutes while shrieking is an abuse of the term.
It's Pino on Continuum (also with Willie Weeks on I Don't Trust Myself With You). I agree the David LaBruyere is a great player and it is he who is playing the Continuum stuff on Where The Light Is, but it is both PP and DLB who play on Belief and I Don't Trust Myself With You (DLB holding down the WW part), so it's 2 bass players you're hearing rather than an octaver I think. Amp wise Pino hasn't been seen with his Ashdown gear for ages and seems to playing his Ampeg rig all the time
Excellent stuff. I was going to post exactly that. I've got the Where The Light Is concert in my car at the moment, it's really rather good at times. He's really improved his singing since Any Given Thursday, much better control. I can hear Pino's bass parts much more clearly on this than on the Try! CD too.
Thanks for the kind words, here is another photo of it with the Jazz that I also fitted with Q-Tuner I was going to put something similar along with its brother the fretless (which is my homage to the Westone Thunder ) into production, but plans changed, I may revisit it though sometime.
I'm a Westone kinda guy, which explains why they look so hot. The one with the carved top and control plate, what did that go for?
Used to be Korea, now Indonesia. By Cort, if I'm not mistaken. Pickups and leccy bits are US made.
Correct. I would expect this to be a Korean one unless it's very, very new. Mine was Korean and it was awesome, I would imagine the Indonesians will be at least as good because G&L are an oddly perfectionist company.

Yorkshire Bass Bash - 15th Feb '09 (NOON - 5 PM)
noisedude replied to Born 2B Mild's topic in Events
Curses! I've been snapped in a couple of pictures!! Us fat people are notorious for being as camera-shy as we are salad-shy. Lovely to see some familiar faces and meet some new people, would liked to have stayed for longer but had to head off unexpectedly at three. Hellos to Mr Bassman, GreeneKing, B2BM and Niceguyhomer, none of whom I think I'd met before, and to ARGH, Dr Dave and Y5S who I had. Some craaaaazy basses on show there today!! -

OK I'm coming, can I also have a sticker for 'Loz' please? He might be hunting for a cheap, decent value bass and I'm always into light cabs so will be interesting to see what people are 'moving on'. I haven't got that much of interest to you boutique types but if anyone wants to try out my Ibanez Wimbish or a Zoot 1x12 I'll sling them in the boot. -
What sort of bass does the dog play, and does he get plenty of growl from it? (someone had to...)
It would most likely be my brother, and he growls more when he's drunk than when he's playing bass. For my own part, I've long since decided that there is no room in my house for a woofer, what with all these large speakers filling the floors......... -

STICKER please although work commitments mean I'm only 90% confirmed at this point .... If I come along with a friend/relative/dog do I need to get them a sticker as well or can we just turn up? -
i will get some pictures posted later today, whats the best way of putting pictures up? shall i keep bumping it or will people get pi**ed off with me?
Bump all you want but pictures will make the difference. Sounds like a bargain depending on condition. Upload the pictures as attachments (the next bit down under the text box when you post) in the order you want them to show up on the screen.
I went into town yesterday, was in SoundsLive and played the only 5er in shop- a Spector Euro 5. I'm in love. It felt beautiful (assuaged any doubts I ever had about 5ers), it sounded beautiful, it looked fantastic. I'm obsessed now. Any downsides though? (Apart from the £500 price tag, of course)
Get it. Now. If you choose to sell it in six months you will make a profit. EDIT - On their website, the 5s are almost a grand. If you can get one for half that you have the bargain of the decade.
Do you still have any slots available?
He doesn't come on here very often I think, but last I spoke to him there were slots available. Cracking teacher, too. Transformed the way I think about bass. Give him a ring. Nik -
