This bass was bought by myself new in1999 as factory built lefthanded, I in fact made the scratchplate myself from a blank bought from Allparts UK, as I did not like the the original, the lined fretless neck conversion was carried out by the great Marten Peterson at The Gallery Camden Town, a superb job he made of it too! he also replced the original controls with chrome ones, this intsrument has quite a unique sound and is near mint condition as most of the time has been in the studio or hanging on my wall, shame but that is why it has to go!

I know that Tokai are good, but have you looked at some of the new Squires recently? there are some variations in build but generally good, my VM Jazz is so good I`m using it as my main fretted gigging bass!

I mean on his left side!!

Both the drummer and myself are lefthanded but as I play mostly an NXT EUB with my bass guitar slung to my side(which allows for quick changes between numbers) we don`t get in each other`s way but can still have eye contact, seems to work for us anyhow!

Hi LEFTYORKY, I have two of these Squires one natural/maple neck and has a schaller 3d bridge, D`adario XL`s schaller strap locks and a fender pickup cover plus white scratchplate and one is a sunburst/rosewood neck with a Babicz bridge plus black original jass knobs, its quite amazing how different these two basses sound!
