  1. Hi Guys, Just wondering if anyone can help me out here. Ive got a Hartke HA4000 head and a Peavey Max valve preamp and Im just wondering if there is a right way and a wrong way to connect the two. I have been told not to connect anything other than a bass guitar to the Hartke front input. I would really like to get the valve qualities to come through from the preamp though. Is this even possible or do I need to run it into a power amp? Thanks in advance
  2. great, Im still trying to complete the deal. I will post here if I get it
  3. as I suspected, thanks buddy
  4. Thanks lads, Im gonna have a look at the Tokai
  5. Greeting bass genuis's, I've picked up a Mexican Jazz 5 recently and have discovered the truss rod nut has been removed and according to the previous owner the rod itself has damage on the threads. Ive seen the Youtube video where a guy repairs one in a few seconds but is this problem really fixable or should I start saving for a new neck? The action is still quite playable all the same but Im sure time will eventually warp the neck. What is the general answer to this problem? Thanks, Mick
  6. Hi Guys, [attachment=107957:098.jpg]Ive got an OLP stingray for sale. Its a natural wood finish with 1 pick up and 3 band passive eq. A guy is interested in it and has asked if I would give him €200 and the OLP for his Tokai Jazz. The Tokai is 80's and mint. Can anyone tell me if this is a good deal? How much are each of these bass's worth. Sorry if these questions are a bit lame but Im not really up to speed on whats what as Ive owned and played a Fender P for the last 18 years. Thanks for any help gentlemen. Mick
  7. thanks for the welcome, lads.
  8. Hi Guys, just thought Id stick my nose in and see what your all up to in here!! My name is Mick and I play with a 10 peice ska band. I play a Fender precision 50th anniversary special with flats through a Hartke Lh4000, a Hartke 4x10 and a 1x15.So nothing too fancy. Ive also picked up a Mex Jazz5 recently. Ive been playing since 1993 but just got going again about 18months ago after a long break, you know how getting married and becoming a parent gets in the way of "the important stuff" lol. Anyway Im looking forward to talking with other bass players and getting up to speed with current tech and learning a bit if I can, cheers, Mick
