1. Gone now, thanks for looking!
2. Bump it up! I'm travelling from Yorkshire to Devon next weekend (28/29th) and back the following weekend (5th) if that helps with any delivery quandaries
3. Some interest, but this beauty is still here
4. Cheers Thor😉. Bump!
5. Talking Heads '77 on Spotify. Terrific stuff - I'm sure I can hear some 10CC influences and their own influence on XTC.
6. This is a thing of beauty, but alas it’s not getting the play it deserves so I need to move it on... This is a Gretsch G5440LSB (ie long scale bass) in orange which I bought new in early 2014. It is in very good condition and comes with a soft ROKSAK bag. At the moment, I would prefer pick up from DN14 – just off J37 M62 – due to lack of a hard case, but could consider delivery/meet up. Would also consider trades with cash adjustment for Fender Road Worn or Limelight Precision or Jazz. But WHY? 7. Very nice! Those surf influenced colours would really suit - including Sea Foam Green!
8.
Working fine
Indeed it is. Lovely bass and great chops!
9. Comes up with "this video is private"...do you need to alter the settings?
10. Definitely a gap in the market there Rob - I'd be interested.
11. Great video, very informative and those are two lovely basses. You've now got me thinking (sighs, holds head in hands etc)
12. Fossil Fuel by XTC on Spotify - before hitting their back catalogue in earnest
13. Last night was probably our last gig for a while in our current incarnation as one of our singers is about to take herself off travelling for up to a year. It was in a pub next to York racecourse on race day, so judging by the punters walking past, some alcohol may have been taken . We were a bit nervous and our tech for the night had some teething problems, but once we got going, we had a hoot. All a bit emotional and end of an era feeling - we're all buddies. We do have another singer (another buddy) lined up as a dep for a few months.
14. What a great story! As above...go for it!
15. Another vote for Hatful of Hollow. Great songs, brilliantly played. Words are clever and funny, but I think Mozza needed Marr as an antedote or foil.
16. That colour combo is great - like it a lot! Has also got me thinking about a Limelight again as an affordable YOB-alike.
17. Got one too. The orange is quite stunning in the flesh! GLWTS
18. Stop it. I like it! Incidentally, think dv247 still have some Gibson offers on.
19. "...cool ammo belt..." What rot.
20. My first was a purpley red Avon EB0 copy, though I can't remember how I acquired it (1977ish). It was fun but had rather odd build quality, especially in the bridge department. This was traded against a very "well used" Musicmaster from a second hand shop somewhere in Cardiff. I liked it, though the fretwork needed fettling. This went a couple of years later post University and wasn't replaced until 2008 with the arrival of the MIM Precision! I was happy with one bass...until I came to this place
21. I had a Musicmaster back in the 70s, it had a mahoosive oblong case which I think (I've had a few sleeps since then) was a Fender case. This one on ebay looks very odd...
