  1. If its not good enough for Alan Davey its not good enough for me. He's good on QI though.
  2. My MS-50G was finally delivered this morning. No box, manual or USB cable, but it looks like its in near perfect condition and it was only £50 so I'm happy. I'm only going to use the pedal with guitar as I have a zoom B3 for bass so I won't bother with 'jailbreaking' the MS-50G to load MS-60B fx on. It had the v3.0 firmware when it came so I've flashed it to v3.1 and used the effect manager software to add some additional fx. I just had a noodle with my banana yellow bullet mustang into my vox valvetronic amp via the MS-50G and some of the effects sound very impressive. The reverbs in particular are great How to use the knobs and buttons is still a bit of a mystery to me so I've put the manual and effects list pdfs on my iPad so I can learn how to use it.
  3. It looks like the holes are for the volume & tone pots. I doubt its for a bass, maybe its meant for a lap steel?
  4. I prefer the buster gonad signature model: https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/-/255332117622
  5. I have a secondhand zoom MS-50G incoming as I'm putting together a guitar pedalboard and wanted something small to add some delay/reverb, and play with modulation fx. I don't know whether the firmware has been updated but if not that's the first thing I'll do when it arrives. I have downloaded the tonelib-zoom software - is that the best thing for setting it up? What's it like to use?
  6. I could be tempted by a hagstrom eight string. A certain Mr Hendrix played one of the original Hagstrom 8 strings on 'Burning of the Midnight Lamp' from electric ladyland.
  7. There is a simple explanation. The demon living inside the keyboard was expressing his displeasure at being in a church.
  8. sticky backed plastic was fablon https://www.homebase.co.uk/brands/fablon.list not the clear stuff for school books
  9. I’d be very tempted at this price if I wasn’t so shallow that the weird pickguard puts me off. If it had something like a les paul jnr pickguard with the pots mounted from the back it would look so much cooler.
  10. I was six so my taste in music was abysmal in 1970
  11. They could have spent a couple of minutes cleaning the dust and gunk of it before taking the pics.
  12. There's a chap whi sells on ebay who can add something he calls 'braille dots'
  13. This thread has sparked a memory of other bass forums from back in the day The dudepit which if I recall correctly ceased shortly after to some drama relating to hookers and crack in Vegas bunnybass which featured some really nice photos of basses as one of the owners was a bass playing photographer A dutch one - was it basslink.nl? Fender UK had a forum with a bass section I'm sure there were others
  14. It looks a bit like a status streamline
  15. It is usually described as a wet fart under a blanket.
  16. I'm pretty sure I can get my sound out of any bass & amp, although I'd be a lot happier if the bass is passive and wearing a set of flatwounds.
  17. In August I bought a pair of tickets for the Residents at the Union Chapel in February next year, assuming that things would be near back to normal by then. I received the tickets in the post on Friday, and before having much chance to worry about what restrictions would or wouldn't be in place in February 2022, an email appeared in my inbox announcing that the tour has been postponed and the gig will now take place on January 31st 2023.
  18. Very 80s - I used to have an MFI bookcase with a similar black woodgrain finish
