  1. Lovely looking thing. This is the best colour for these.
  2. I enjoyed it. In episode 4 where they played 'nine to five' in the Red Lion pub, I wonder why the large union flag decorating the stage behind the drum kit was hung upside-down?
  3. I could probably go up to about a six and a half on a scale of zero to eleven. Anything heavier than that would probably make me feel a bit queasy.
  4. Curly leads are cool - I always use 'em.
  5. The ones I have were pre slotted - they both have brass saddles, perhaps the ones with zinc saddles are different?
  6. The only daft questions are the one which are not asked
  7. yes - lots of lemon oil
  8. Used by the banshees on two TV appearances? That makes it sound like it might have been lent or hired to the band to use whilst miming. The gunk on it looks terrible but nothing a squirt of cillit bang and a wipe with an oily rag couldn't sort out.
  9. Heres what it sounds like
  10. I now think this probably started out life as a Vox bassmaster. https://www.vintageguitarandbass.com/vox/bass/Bassmaster.php
  11. These look identical a set I have that came off my squier SS jaguar. I've just dismantled one of mine and was able to reassemble it with the 'ear' on the other side to make it into a left handed one. So it should be possible to configure this set as 3+1 - hope that helps.
  12. The tuners fitted to the vintera precision appear to be the same 'reverse' tuners with the big backplate as fitted to vintage reissues so I would be very surprised if they didn't fit.
  13. I've fitted a Fender badass-style high mass bridge to two of my basses (a squier SS jag & an '81 Fender precision) I had no problems with setting a low action and I don't recall reshimming either at the time. Unless the saddles on the current bridge are set really low you should be OK. If you do have to shim its really easy to do and a little goes a long way.
  14. Separate pedals on a board => multifx unit multifx unit => separate pedals on a board
  15. Oiling your fingerboard
  16. You forgot the one about the stolen US election
  17. Luther James Grosvenor played guitar for Mott the Hoople as Ariel Bender
  18. I bet they smell minty-fresh now as well?
  19. I'm in a six piece band with a husband/wife and they're both great (as are the other members) — Must be an exception to the norm.
  20. I used two squirts of oil on a piece of kitchen towel and most of that was wiped off. I could see that some was absorbed into the wood fibres as the appearance changed — it looked darker and less dull. The fret sprout before applying the oil was only just noticable as I ran my finger along the edge. Human fingers can feel objects as small as 13 nanometers. I doubt there would have been a change in dimensions that would be measurable.
  21. I received some new pleckies in the post today. These are Jim dunlop prime tone small triangle 1.5mm. A standard dunlop tortex orange triangle is also shown for size comparison. I really like these. The smaller size is really comfortable to hold and the sculpted edge and hardness of the material makes it pretty much effortless to play fast with accuracy.
  22. A little goes a long way. I was surprised that just two squirts of Dunlop 65 on a piece of kitchen towel wiped on and wiped off the fingerboard cured the fret sprout on my JMJ in addition to giving the rosewood a rich dark lustre.
