1.
That the only Reason for the sale?
Not quite - the missus has got it into her head that having over two dozen basses & guitars around the house is excessive, so I'm half-heartedly trying to sell a few - that one doesn't get used as much as it should be to justify keeping it.
 2.
Wow thats gorgeous! Very tempted! Special BassChat price? haha But i'd "ideally" have a 24 fret neck through, (and 6 strings is a bonus i'm still after a 5!) Though if that doesn't shift i may be after that! Beggars can't be choosers! Though seriously that looks like its worth £500 at least!
Ta - it does look pretty classy for an inexpensive bass. I don't tend to use it a lot at it looks a bit posh for the rough & ready roots/americana/rock n roll band I'm in.
 3. This one http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?Vie...=STRK:MESELX:IT has the same pickups as the cirrus and growls like a good 'un.
 4.
I would bite your arm off for that Daisy Rock, been looking for one of those for a while. If the price was a bit closer to what I remember you paid for it... Jon.
Listed under duress from the missus I'm afraid, so priced to keep the riff-raff out Also I have two of them and the one for sale is the other one.
 5. I don't suppose it counts if its a separate pup for each string, plus two sets of piezos like my NS-design CR5m?
 6. I've listed some stuff on ebay - all ending on Tuesday 17th Nov http://shop.ebay.co.uk/jean-luc-pickguard/m.html

Boss HM2 Heavy Metal Pedal
Amdek CMK-100 Compressor Pedal
Daisy Rock Stardust Elite Bass
Peavey Millennium AC BXP 5 string Bass
Fender Ashbory Bass
Fender Squier mini strat guitar
Epiphone Thunderbird bass White inc hardcase & D-tuner
Pioneer CDJ Coffin Case for DJ CD Decks & Mixer
7.
Declare it or she's asking for trouble! Isn't there a trick about 'used items' = no duty? I'm not sure but IIRC if you have a receipt showing it's a 'used instrument' they can't sting you?
Nope - if its used & from the US it is still new to the UK and no VAT or duty would have been paid on it previously.
 8. Yes - to be legal she'd have to declare it as she would be importing it.
 9. Thanks for that I'm going to have a play with the Cee Lo Green one, but I'll risk getting into trouble with the missus as the kids are bound to sing along using the original lyrics rather than the radio version.
 10. I've made a Fretless Precision and Tele guitar using kits from brandoniguitars.co.uk/ in Wembley. The tele used all the standard hardware that comes with the kit and it came out very nicely for £200 (plus the cost of some Danish Oil & woodstain). I got a sunburst body & finished fretless neck with ebony fingerboard for the precision and used a lot of upgraded hardware.
 11. I used to get split skin on my fingers I always had elastaplasts on 'em a few years ago. At that time also I always had white blotches on my fingernails. I think both may have been a result of not having enough calcium at that time, so I would prescribe strawberry shortcake muller corners.
 12.
those old fender pickguards were made of celluloid, and thus sound much better than modern plastic pickguards. However, a wooden pickguard sounds best.
I bet they sound even better coated with snake-oil though
 13. The chrome plated tuners on my cherry sunburst precision are as shiny as the day I bought it in October 1982, however the nickel-plated ones on my MIJ '62 reissue took on the aged patina naturally after a short while. If your new ones are chrome plated, I think you may need to change them for a set of nickel plated ones to get the desired look.
 14. It looks like I'll be going on Saturday. My Daughter who has a couple of basses & a guitar, but is too lazy to practice (she probably gets that from me). She jumped at the chance to go when I mentioned it - hopefully it will inspire her to learn to play her Violetburst Daisy Rock Stardust Elite Bass, Lilac Daisy Rock Wildwood acoustic & Lilac 1971 Fender musicmaster bass. Any other BCers going on Saturday?
 15. That's tempting if they have any of the compressor pedals left If you go by train, you can get into the show on a bogof with a voucher from https://www.daysoutguide.co.uk/get-voucher....tractionid=5517
 16.
...That's why there is a macron over the first 'a' (e.g. Lākland) on the headstocks.
mmmm
 17. I used to have an Ashdown & agree about the sub-octave thing, the FX loop and the input meter, but even more useless than those was my first amp, a late 70's Ohm head which had a built-in flanger which sounded absolutely horrible.
 18. If the song you're writing is a bit boring, put in a key change after the second or third chorus. - aka 'the truck driver's gear shift' in country music. Also real life stories from certain areas of the US are a good source of ideas for songs. eg There's got to be a country song in this story. (NSFW!)
 19. It varies. I often prefer to get a chord chart if its more fiddly than a typical three-chord track & play along on acoustic guitar first. Then map it out with root notes and fill in. I never try to stick to the original bassline unless it absolutely defines the song (eg the verse on the animals - "we've got to get out of this place" or Pink Floyd - "money"). Sometimes I listen to multiple versions and pick out little bits I like from each to make a bit of a frankenstein bassline, or treat it as a song that doesn't have a bassline yet and come up with something new.
 20. Check out the pic of the back of the headstock - that has to be confusing to tune up
