There's nothing wrong with broncos that can't be fixed with a few upgrades. Some of the hardware is a bit crap, but it's a nice playable little bass. You should be able to pick up a secondhand one for next to nothing and then upgrade it with a set of Wilkinson tuners and a kent armstrong cool rails strat pickup, switchcraft jack & CTS pots etc.

If he calls again refuse to speak to him & only communicate via paypal messages, so they can see whats being said, he has to respond via that medium anyway to put his side across.

Usually my jitters have gone by the time I've managed to arrive at the venue on time & loaded in. Although I do have an elaborate ritual of uncoiling cables and plugging them into various pieces of PA gear.

Yum! You could always Lynott it with a mirror pickguard - that WOULD look good.

I only use flatties on my basses & favour TI JF324s so haven't tried the Legacy Bass strings, but I can confirm that Legacy electric & acoustic guitar stings are very good for the money and when I get through the ones I have I'll probably buy some more.

Garageband & an old tascam US-122 on my MacBook beats my stand-alone Boss BR-1180 HDD recorder hands down for ease of use & flexibility. Since getting into Garageband I'm more likely to fire it up than Cubase Studio 4 (& I've been using Cubase since 1990 on the Atari and pro24 before that)

The 2006 ones are very rare - it could be worth a lot of money.

If it normally comes with four valves as standard it should have been mentioned. A jazz bass still works with only one pickup fitted, but I'd expect it to be disclosed if one was offered for sale with a pickup cover fitted covering just a hole in the wood.

Its not your problem that the courier are playing silly buggers - he's the one that has to claim from the courier. I'd raise a paypal dispute without delay and tell him you've done that. Only communicate through the dispute interface so paypal have an audit trail of messages back & forth about the issue. You can cancel the dispute if the issue is resolved. It should work: You get money back from Paypal -> paypal gets money back from seller -> Seller gets money back from courier But if the process stalls at the 3rd stage it is the seller that has to thrash it out with parcel2go, so really you shoudn't worry about getting involved any further than providing evidence to him about the state of the amp. He'd have to take the hit anyway if they say it did not comply with their packaging standards.
