I though the bass VI was a baritone guitar rather than a bass anyway, so they should be similar already.

I used to get problems towards the end of a gig when we'd normally do a 100mph version of get "out of denver" with very fast bass line played fingerstyle. Often my hands would start hurting and sometimes my right hand would freeze up completely so I'd have to finish the song with my hand siezed up into a claw moving the whole hand from the shoulder like a big plecky. My solution was to change my gain structrure so that the bass goes through a limiter and the amp is set much louder so that I don't have to hit the strings so hard to get the same volume out. I also built up the strength in my fingers with a red gripmaster. I can feel that my fingers are much stronger now and I don't have the problem any more.

I'd pop up to Camden & see Al at the Gallery. Give him a ring first to see what s/h amps are there, but he should have plenty of neoprene straps & gigbags.

I'd say most a lot of modern music has more in common with a lot of blues, but then there's a massive crossover with blues & jazz, both coming from similar influences. What's the point in catgories in record shops (or whatever they call them these days) Do I look for Etta James in easy listening, soul, blues, jazz or rock? - I've found her CDs in all these sections. What the f*** is urban? and why is the R&B section full of spoken word/drum machine nonsense instead of Howlin'Wolf & Muddy Waters?

If you want a laugh, You should ask this on the official Ernie Ball Musicman forum. And stand well back. Or maybe get it rewound or have a custom one made by Andy Blake at Wizard Pickups.

Fender don't sell necks separately (at least not for retail aftermarket use) To get a genuine Fender one you'd probably need to buy from one of the ebay shysters that buys up whole instuments & parts them out at a large markup. Doesn't the Jazz deluxe have a different neck - more frets or something compared to a standard USA Jazz?

I get mine from NS CR5M upright / CIJ Mustang with TI Flats -> Behringer limiter -> Behringer Preamp -> Little Mark II -> Schoreder1212L

Nice - I used to have a trace combo with one like that in. It was lovely but too damn heavy.

Maybe other models are beter in this respect than mine, but its just an observation. Its usually OK especially for a quick tune-up between songs though as we have a "no-noodling" between songs rule. Spooky.[/quote] French Chalk or unscented talc is recommended to stop the grabbiness of rubber Ashbory bass strings. I recently did a gig swapping between my Ashbory and a Fender with flats and the french chalk I put on my fingers before playing the Ashbory certainly made the other bass's strings feel faster as well.

Interesting use of the word bespoke in the listing. I expect the original amp blew up. My old trace combo cost £200 to repair when it needed a new power stage. I guess it was cheaper to put the Behringer in.

TI Jazz flats bacause they make my basses sound like a bass not a harpsichord.

I can't believe this went for £377.97 Thats a lot for a cheap copy. I've done my civic duty & sent a message to the winner, so he'll either get out of the deal or think he got a bargain and tell me to f off
