  1. I'm looking at Rics and found a 1975 JetGlo 4001 at Rich Tone, but I can't figure out what is going on with the finish. https://richtonemusic.co.uk/rickenbacker-4001-1975-jetglo-hard-case-2nd-hand/?mc_cid=644ee1e565 Is this just a matter that some fool tried to do a roadworn or relic job on the bass, or could it have possibly aged like this naturally? If this was deliberately done, why would anyone do that?
  2. ... Here is the Bassless head https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/335515849916?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=711-127632-2357-0&ssspo=UcvpAjRIS2y&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=OzMzAukVTDS&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY Not sure what you're expected to do with it. $462.00 USD seems rather steep for an ornament.
  3. If my bass and guitar pedalboards weren't all Boss compact pedals I would have probably ordered the Fuzz Bender and the Centaur for my guitar board, but going all-Boss was a good way to stop myself from buying more pedals than I need.
  4. I wonder whether behringer will ever release the mu-tron III clone they announced quite a while ago.
  5. Oh my - it has lollipop tuners. Are the original chrome bridge & pickups covers still with it? and does the case still whiff? (mentioned in the 2018 ad) — If so what of?
  6. I saw that ric just a few hours too late. If I’d seen it earlier I think I’d have snagged it. Out of interest does it have one or two truss rods?
  7. Ring Of Fire — Johnny Cash
  8. Funny you should mention that; I placed an order with Andy yesterday, so there should be a NBD thread soon. 😎
  9. A Funky Space Reincarnation — Marvin Gaye
  10. Being Sucked In Again — Wire
  11. Will it go round in circles? — Billy Preston
  12. In my first band that actually got some gigs, I had to sing & play bass on most of the songs so I wrote a bunch of songs that I was able to sing whilst playing bass, plus a few I couldn't sing whilst playing bass that the keyboard player had to sing. I don't remember the title of the first song we played though.
  13. Has Fender fixed the shonky circuit for version 2 of the PJ player? I had to rewire the original PJ player mustang I picked up a few months ago as whenever the volume was anywhere other than full on, rolling down the tone dropped the volume. I posted this & the fix on the repairs & technical forum:
  14. The Winker's Song (Misprint) — Ivor Biggun
  15. Ashdown is selling the "Pink Roasted Saint Soap" for £239 as a black Friday special. It sounds less like a bass and more like a four word password like correct horse battery staple.
  16. Hey Bulldog — The Beatles
  17. Here Come The Custards — Primus
  18. Semolina — The Residents
  19. News Of The World — The Jam
  20. I'd bang their heads together and tell them to stop bickering.
  21. Spicks And Specs — Status Quo
  22. I've owned two five string bass guitars. I didn't really get enough benefit from having the extra string on either occasion, the B didn't sound particularly good, and I don't really like active basses so I sold both of them. When I upgraded from a dean pace EUB to an NS Design seventeen years ago, I went for the CR5M. I have no plan to ever sell it as it is a wonderful instrument, and having a 43" (or thereabouts) scale means the B string sounds as good as the other strings. Also The EMG/Haz labs electronics make sense on the CR5M.
